This page is managed by DCS External Affairs and is not monitored 24/7. The mission of the Georgia Department of Community Supervision is to protect and serve all Georgia citizens through effective and efficient offender supervision in our communities, while providing opportunities for successful outcomes. Our highly trained and professionally dedicated officers currently supervise approximately 200,000 adults individuals sentenced to a period of adult felony probation or parole in Georgia communities. We believe in utilizing a holistic approach to supervision that involves all facets of the community which includes, but is not limited to: victims and their families, programs for individuals under supervision and their families, involvement in community activities and partnerships with other criminal justice agencies. We also provide individuals under our supervision the opportunity to make positive changes while in the community by providing individual support, programs and assistance.

Recently, DCS employees represented the agency at the Association of Women Executives in Corrections (AWEC), Georgia Association of Women in Public Safety (GAWPS), and GBI-GCIC Annual Training Symposium, where they connected with fellow professionals, shared experiences, and gained valuable insight into the work taking place across the field.

Opportunities like these allow our employees to learn from one another, build relationships, and bring fresh ideas back to their teams. We are proud of our employees who continue to invest in their professional development while making meaningful contributions to our agency and the communities we serve.

Throughout September, Team DCS joined community partners across Georgia in recognizing National Recovery Month through rallies, recovery walks, resource events, service projects, and stops along the Georgia Recovers Bus Tour.

These efforts brought together individuals in recovery, families, treatment providers, community organizations, and public safety partners to celebrate progress, strengthen connections, reduce stigma, and expand access to support.

For DCS, recovery is an important part of creating successful outcomes. Connecting individuals to treatment, housing, education, peer support, and other resources can help address barriers, build stability, and support successful reentry.

Team DCS is proud to stand alongside our partners in reinforcing an important message: recovery is possible, support is available, and no one has to navigate the journey alone.
