What an incredible day of peer-driven learning at the recent TCCE Chamber Basics Workshop in Denison!

A huge thank you to the Denison Chamber and our outstanding venue host, Grayson College, for helping create such a welcoming and collaborative environment for chamber professionals from across the region.

We especially want to recognize Diana Theall, President & CEO of the Denison Chamber, for her leadership and hospitality. Her commitment to strengthening the chamber profession and creating opportunities for connection and growth was evident throughout the entire day!

Thank you as well to our generous sponsor, Community Matters, Inc. for supporting this workshop and for taking the time during lunch to engage directly with attendees, answer thoughtful questions, and participate in meaningful conversations about the real challenges and opportunities chambers are navigating today.

We are also incredibly grateful to our workshop speakers and facilitators who shared practical insights, real-world experiences, and honest peer-to-peer guidance throughout the day:

• Diana Theall — Denison Area Chamber of Commerce
• RaDonna Hessel — Grapevine Chamber of Commerce
• Lisa Flowers — Parker County Chamber of Commerce
• Lori Walker — Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce

The conversations throughout the day reinforced just how valuable chamber-to-chamber learning can be. From building stronger volunteer engagement strategies to simplifying board governance to discussing budgeting realities and event revenue growth, attendees didn’t just hear presentations; they exchanged ideas, asked tough questions, and workshopped real solutions together.

These peer connections and candid conversations are what make Chamber Basics such a valuable experience!

And we’re already looking ahead to the next one! Chamber professionals in the Central Texas region are invited to join us for the next TCCE Chamber Basics Workshop in Bastrop, hosted by the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce on August 18, 2026 from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. We look forward to continuing these important conversations, sharing practical ideas, and creating more opportunities for chamber professionals to learn from peers across Texas! Thank you again to everyone who attended, participated, shared ideas, and helped make the day impactful. We’re excited to continue building opportunities like this for chamber professionals across Texas.

TCCE is powered by a small but mighty team, and I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible work of Spencer Sallee Coleman, our Director of Member Engagement.

On top of everything else she covers, Spencer is currently leading the development of our Annual Conference and Chamber Basics programs, and her impact is clear in the quality and thoughtfulness of each.

She embodies what it means to be a chamber professional, balancing multiple priorities with patience, strong attention to detail, and a positive, solutions-oriented mindset. Her commitment to improving outcomes for chamber leaders across Texas is evident in everything she does.

Grateful to work alongside her in serving our TCCE members!

P.s. join us at our next Chamber Basics in Denison on May 5th and then Annual Conference in Abilene June 15-17th!

Chamber leadership in action! 💼

This year’s TCCE Chair’s Conference brought together CEOs, board chairs, and community champions from across Texas to share best practices and strengthen the partnerships that power our local economies. This peer-to-peer learning is equipping our chambers and business leaders with the tools and actionable items they need to build a stronger Texas, one community at a time!

We’d also like to highlight the speakers and our TCCE officers for their dedication to the program: Texas Association of Business; Glenn Hamer; Abilene Chamber of Commerce; Doug Peters; Hurst Euless Bedford HEB Chamber of Commerce; Odessa Chamber of Commerce; Renee Henderson Earls; Bastrop Chamber of Commerce; Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce; Grapevine Chamber of Commerce; Before During After.
