Christians, Rise Up And Vote!

The Church began in Israel, Moving through the Middle East to most Roman cities, to Europe and eventually to the whole world. It’s been involved in abundant cultures and governmental structures.

It was a major force in our country’s beginnings and development. Probably the major force. And it still should be in a country where the majority claim to be Christian. There is wonderful wisdom in both the Old and New Testaments, teaching about salvation, how to live well in and understand the world we inhabit. Light shining in the darkness.

For two thousand years, the Church has driven culture worldwide. And for all the naysayers who only point to shortcomings, its influence has been an overwhelming record for good.

Yet we live in a world where leftist voices overwhelm Christians with fork-tongued advice, claiming we shouldn’t try to influence our culture, our laws, or our lifestyles. Voices saying Christians need to be non-partisan, keep silent, sit on the sidelines, and not engage. There are some Christians who echo these sentiments.

Going out on a limb, I think that kind of talk is straight from the pit of Hell.

Megan Basham speaks to this. Her claim: If we adhered to central biblical teachings, Christians would be the most conservative wing of the Republican Party and the dominant force for good in America. Few would vote for leftist ideas.

I agree with her. It’s true. She also points to the declining number of Christians who are voting, which surprised me. You’d think we’d know better in this age of cultural decline. Do you recall the Democrat convention where they loudly booed the mention of God? I do. Outright hostility to Christianity.
Here’s why we need to come against that.

“When people cease to believe in God, they do not then believe in nothing, but in anything.” The quote is often attributed to G.K. Chesterton, but it may come from elsewhere. Regardless, the left seemingly wants to believe anything except God — which should be the number-one reason Christians vote against Democrat politicians.
Pascal long ago said, “There is a God-shaped vacuum in the heart of each man which cannot be satisfied by any created thing but only by God the Creator, made known through Jesus Christ.”

Humanity hungers to fill this void...with anything, which is what the average leftist Democrat does with his politics, and often in the lowest forms. Politics and power fill that void for leftists. It’s one reason leftists get a little crazier each year. For them, God isn’t a reality. They think they don’t need Him.
Curiously, so many leftist ideas border on the demonic:

Encouraging transgenderism, including removing body parts and drug therapies on pre-teens. Toxic empathy at its worst.
Violence against those they disagree with, including murder of certain opponents being okay with so many of the Democrat base.
Enabling the chaos of mass immigration. Siding with illegals. Using them to change our culture. Like Europe now with riots and violence. Finding nefarious ways to support this criminal enterprise, as the Biden administration did. Hoping they will change the voting demographics to gain and remain in permanent power. Christians: They want to replace you, while allowing the chaos of France here.
Pro-abortion policies up to birth. Just recently, Massachusetts passed such a bill, with a video celebration (ghoulish) by its supporters. Many have gone on record suggesting there are times we should let babies die after birth if they aren’t well. Catholics used to call this the culture of death. It still is. Christians should be 100 percent against abortion and infanticide.
Hating this country. Pathologically. Intensely and irrationally. While forgiving, forgetting, and liking countries with far greater sins. Thoughtful Christians understand the freedoms they have and know how fortunate they are. Positive change in our country, not hatred, is what to seek.
Democrats are forming alliances with communist and Islamist ideologies. Both have enslaved and murdered millions of people, repeatedly, with Christians being a major target.
Attempting to racialize our country, pitting races against one another. DIE, not the content of your character. Christians, on the other hand, are admonished to go to and be made up of every tribe and every nation.
Toxic empathy is used as a weapon to shame Christians. They take advantage of Christian tolerance and bludgeon them with this tactic. And it works. It’s El-Sayed’s and Talarico’s M.O. Be wise; do not allow this.
I could go on. There’s more. Above are reasons enough Christians should not just be wary of the left, but actively vote against it. Leftist worldviews are contrary to Christianity. The current left is vehemently opposed to most Christian values. Thoughtful Christians should not vote for this current Democrat party. They are no longer the party of JFK. That version of the party is long gone.

Let me address a short list of Christian reasons to engage. These are just a few of the finest we should champion:

We are made in the image of God.
We were given dominion over the earth at creation. Engaging with all of it. A special gift of creativity. We are expected to play our part.
We were shown the goodness and full glory of God and His creation.
We were told to seek, ask, and knock — an undertaking that would captivate the West in searching for new worlds, physically, intellectually, and spiritually.
There is no finer promise from God.
He reminded us of the two great commandments: Love God. Love your neighbor.
The keys to the Kingdom.
He balanced turning from wrongdoing and the celebration of life in extraordinary ways.
His full teaching has been recorded better than virtually any other person who walked this earth. And it’s wonderful. Full, exciting, fearful, illuminating. A treasure for us all.
His story is history. Not just a story. It’s the greatest story ever told. There is no greater historical figure. No greater set of ideals. No other has transformed nations, lives, and reality for the better the way He has.
So why would some insist we hide these lights, or not put them up high for all to see? We needn’t replace God with politics, as leftists do. But we do need to help ensure that goodness prevails. Voting is an important part of that in our form of government. Voting against the aforementioned evils and destructive ideas is right. Voting for the side that wants life, wants a better, saner, more stable, full culture to live our faith in, is even more important. We want to be able to fill that God-shaped void with goodness, not the mutant plans of the left.

At this time in history, Christians must engage. If we don’t, the evils Democrats bring will destroy everything we love. Voting against the current version of this unworthy Democrat party is imperative. Yes, there are plenty of Republicans who fall way short. But even those are better compared to their Democrat party counterparts who champion such destructive ideas.

It’s a binary choice now. And it’s time to be salt and light in the voting booth. Don’t forsake this obligation and opportunity.

“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

—John Adams

It’s time to be salt and light in the voting booth. Don’t forsake this obligation.

Drazan Campaign Releases Scathing Ad Exposing Tina Kotek’s Record of Failure

Drazan Campaign Releases Scathing Ad Exposing Tina Kotek’s Record of Failure
WILSONVILLE, Ore. – Christine Drazan’s campaign for governor today released a new
television ad ripping into Tina Kotek's disastrous record with just over a week remaining until
Election Day.
The ad puts Kotek's failures front and center: massive tax increases, Oregon schools ranked
48th in the nation, utility rates up 60%, the nation's most expensive housing, scandals
plaguing her administration, and Oregon's unemployment rate reaching the highest in the
country.
“Tina Kotek has had four years to prove she can do this job, and instead, she's run Oregon into
the ground. Higher taxes, skyrocketing utility bills, failing schools, and one scandal after
another are the legacy of her administration,” said Trey Rosser, Drazan campaign strategist.
“She's had her chance, and she's blown it. Christine Drazan is ready to clean up the mess
Kotek has made, and her message is resonating with Oregonians across the political
spectrum who are ready for a governor who will finally deliver the results they deserve.”

Oregon Republican Party National Committeewoman Files Formal Complaint Over Governor Kotek’s Reelection Interview

Oregon Republican Party National Committeewoman Files Formal Complaint Over Governor Kotek’s Reelection Interview Conducted in Governor’s Office
Oregon Republican Party National Committeewoman Tracy Honl has filed a formal complaint with the Oregon Government Ethics Commission and Oregon Secretary of State’s Office requesting an investigation into whether public employees or taxpayer-funded resources were improperly used in connection with a reelection-focused interview featuring Governor Tina Kotek.

The interview, conducted by journalist and podcaster Aaron Parnas and released October 15, 2026, reportedly took place inside the Governor’s Office. The discussion addressed Kotek’s reelection campaign, with an on-screen graphic reading, “GOV. TINA KOTEK ON HER REELECTION CAMPAIGN.”

According to the complaint, the interview was subsequently shared on Governor Kotek’s campaign Instagram account.

The central question is whether official government resources were used to facilitate political campaign activity.

Oregon law establishes restrictions intended to prevent public employees from being required to participate in political campaigning and prohibits covered public employees from promoting or opposing candidates while working or acting in their official capacity.

The complaint cites ORS 260.432(1)(b), ORS 260.432(2)(b), and OAR 165-013-0030, which incorporates the Secretary of State’s Restrictions on Political Advocacy by Public Employees manual.

Although elected officials are excluded from the statute’s definition of public employee, the restrictions on directing public employees to engage in political activity apply to everyone, including elected officials.

The complaint asks investigators to determine:

Whether state employees scheduled, coordinated, prepared for, or otherwise facilitated the campaign-related interview.
Whether public employees performed any campaign-related work during taxpayer-funded working hours.
Whether state-owned equipment, computers, internet service, lighting, or other resources were used for campaign purposes.
Who authorized use of the Governor’s Office for the interview and whether applicable state policies permitted that use.
Whether comparable access to the facility is available to other gubernatorial candidates.
The complaint also raises questions about whether any public employees were directed to assist with activities that would constitute political advocacy under Oregon law.

The fact that an elected official discusses an election during a media interview does not, standing alone, establish a violation. The complaint seeks to determine whether the circumstances surrounding this particular interview involved prohibited public-employee activity or improper use of state resources.

The ORP National Committeewoman Honl is requesting a thorough and impartial review of the allegations and a clear explanation of the rules governing the use of public facilities and employees in connection with campaign-related media appearances.

Marching Orders for Christians on Election day

The midterm elections, already in progress across America, popped into my head when I saw this T-shirt. Christians and true patriots alike are deeply concerned when we hear polls that tout the advancement of the Democrat Party in key races across the nation. The result is that some are stimulated to work harder, but others appear to throw up their hands and give the final results over to fate—or, fatalistically, “Providence.” After all, if “all things work together for good,” even if the Democrats regain power and go scorched earth on our country, well, that will be God’s will and things will eventually work out “for good,” yes?

For Christians, faith in God’s providence does not excuse political inaction.
