🐦‍⬛ Ever wonder where all the crows go at sunset?

Crows can travel up to 50 miles to reach their nighttime roosts, where anywhere from 100 to more than 10,000 birds gather to spend the night. Along the way, they often stop in "staging areas" before making their final flight to the roost just before sunset.

And if you've ever heard the term, yes, a group of crows is called a murder of crows! Next time you see a flock gathering in the evening sky, you might just be witnessing one of nature's most impressive daily commutes.

Protecting a rare and fragile habitat

Coastal plain pondshore communities support a remarkable variety of state-listed rare plants and animals, making them some of the most sensitive ecosystems on Cape Cod.

These special habitats—both within the ponds and along their shores—are carefully protected under the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, helping ensure they remain healthy for generations to come.

💧 Every visit is a chance to appreciate—and help protect—this one-of-a-kind landscape.

Ease into a calm, outdoor practice that blends gentle movement, steady breathing, and mindfulness one Friday a month right here at the sanctuary.

Our QiGong series draws inspiration from the five elements of nature—Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water—helping participants feel more grounded and present.

Practicing outside at Long Pasture invites a deeper awareness of the connection between your own energy and the living world around you. The experience supports wellbeing while strengthening the kind of nature connection that inspires everyday care for the environment.

Our next session is Friday, October 30, from 10:00-11:00 am. Join us! Register at massaudubon.org/longpastureprograms
