The best way to keep your family safe is to make sure you have working CO and smoke detectors.

Whether you’re testing your system or swapping out the batteries, the annual time change serves as the perfect reminder to take care of it.

Who doesn’t enjoy a good 👻 Halloween 🎃 parade?

Today’s Annual Halloween Parade was an incredible success, and seeing so many of our neighbors show up in full force made it truly special. After a festive march around the building led by our UTV, everyone enjoyed plenty of candy and treats!

A big thank you to the Lions Club for partnering with us to host such a wonderful event for our community.

New delivery - and it’s a big one!

Today, the Bedford Fire Department and Bedford Village Fire District took delivery of our brand new truck, Tanker 20.

Built by KME and Bulldog Fire Apparatus, this vehicle will help to provide 2500 gallons of water as well as fire suppression and support equipment for our residents and neighbors.

We look forward to training our members and getting this truck in service soon; the tanker will be an immediate, impactful addition to our fleet and response capabilities.

A big thank you to the Fire District, the Tanker Committee and our residents for helping to make this valuable asset a reality. Stay tuned for more info as we roll out the new Tanker 20!

On Monday evening, we joined forces with the Bedford Hills Fire Department for a pre-plan walk-through of a major historic site in our district—The Playhouse Building.

Crews toured the playhouse, 234, and the apartment building to review response strategies for potential emergency situations. Annual walk-throughs like this are critical, as building layouts often change and new emergency response technologies evolve. Bedford Hills Fire Department

Monday night’s drill focused on motor vehicles fires.

Firefighters reviewed techniques for approaching a vehicle fire including size-up, positioning, equipment, backup lines, pump operations, communication and potential hazards.

Meanwhile, EMS crews reviewed the role and placement of ambulances on fire scenes and practiced rehab protocols.

Regular training helps crews become familiar with the equipment and with working together. Thanks to Lt. McCrea for organizing this drill.

Monday night the BFD Fire and EMS crews had the opportunity to train together on rescue operations with motor vehicle accidents. With the donation of a vehicle, it provided members with the ability to simulate an accident with a patient who was trapped inside. Crews worked quickly and diligently to rescue the patient.
