Over the last couple of years I have had the opportunity to prejudge and give feedback to the talented students at Riverside High School in the Business Professionals of America Organization as they prepare for their annual competition. Last Friday, I was honored to be invited to join the Riverside High School Business Program Advisory Committee through Ohio Hi-Point Career Center.

As a strong believer in the importance of education, workforce development, and preparing our young people for success, I’m honored to have the opportunity to support all business students as they build the skills and knowledge they need for their future careers.

Connecting classroom learning with real-world expectations is so important. By bringing together educators and local professionals, we can share ideas, offer insight, and help ensure students are developing the practical, workplace-ready skills that will serve them well beyond graduation.

I’m looking forward to working alongside dedicated educators and community partners to strengthen the business program, expand opportunities for students, and help prepare the next generation of leaders and professionals in our community.

Investing in our students today is investing in the future of our community! đź’™

🇺🇸Today the National Traveling Memorial came to town and is now on display at the Bellefontaine High School Auxiliary Gym.

This memorial includes tribute towers of the almost 5,000 fallen soldiers since 9/11.

The patriotism was felt downtown this morning as the sun was shining bright to welcome the Memorial. Thank you Logan County Veterans Service for all that you do!🇺🇸

This week I had the opportunity to join a statewide initiative and share my perspective as to the most pressing challenges facing young children and working families in Logan County. I utilized this time with local leaders from Hardin, Logan, and Union counties to identify local priorities, promising practices, and successes we are having in Logan County.

I focused on the importance of collaboration. Logan County is blessed to have many entities that work together to help our children. I focused on our schools and how school based health centers have provided care and support for our children and working families. I spoke about the importance of accessible and affordable preschool education starting at age three and after school programs for working families. I shared how beneficial it has been to have licensed mental health professionals in the school to provide support to those who are struggling. All of these services and resources also help to combat truancy. I believe this dialogue was eye opening for others in the room.

I know there is always room for improvement but I also know that Logan County is one of a kind and we truly care about our children who are the future of our community! ✨

Last week I had the opportunity to speak along side Judge Estes and Judge Braig at the Logan County Chamber of Commerce Business Impact Meeting. We shared our journey to the bench, about our courts, and answered questions from the community.

Our judicial panel could have used about 3 more hours 🤣 but our time together was insightful and thought provoking.

Thank you Mary Rutan Health for hosting us!

Logan County Family Court divided and conquered today for United Way of Logan County, Ohio Community Care Day!

Today, our court staff stepped outside the courthouse and into the community for Community Care Day! đź’™

Our team spent the day volunteering with Lifecare Alliance...Meals on Wheels, helping get West Liberty-Salem Local School ready for open house, and serving alongside the wonderful folks at Union Station.🛠️🪏🧹

Community service is a reminder that the work we do as a court is about more than what happens inside our courtroom. It’s about strengthening families, supporting children, helping our neighbors, and making our community a better place for everyone.

I’m incredibly proud of our staff for giving their time, energy, and hearts to those who need it most. Thank you to all of the organizations and volunteers who work every day to make a difference in our community!

Proud to serve our community—in and out of the courthouse. ❤️

Have you ever wondered what it is like to be a judge?

Now you can give it a try thanks to the Ohio Supreme Court in conjunction with the Ohio Center for Law-Related Education.

As we celebrate America 250, we reflect on 250 years of a nation built on the enduring principles of liberty, justice, and the rule of law.

Our Constitution established three equal branches of government, each with a distinct role in protecting our freedom.

The judicial branch serves a unique purpose—not to make laws or enforce them, but to interpret and apply them fairly, ensuring that every person who comes before the court is heard with impartiality, dignity, and respect.

As part of its America 250 celebration, the Supreme Court of Ohio has created an interactive game that allows individuals to experience what it’s like to be a judge at each level of Ohio’s court system. The game is geared toward 6th graders but can be played by anyone!

https://www.supremecourt.ohio.gov/YouBetheJudge/index.html

You Be the Judge takes players on a journey through the court system, letting them make decisions as judges. Players make key decisions from the case beginning in a trial court all the way to the case’s conclusion in the Supreme Court.

Happy America 250!⚖️

You be the judge! A new interactive game lets students step into the robe and assess the case just as Ohio judges do at every level of the courts.

Five years ago today, I had the honor of taking the oath to serve as a Family Court Judge. It has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.

Every day has been a reminder that this role is about people—children, families, and our community. I’ve had the opportunity to witness incredible resilience, support families through difficult moments, and work alongside dedicated professionals who are committed to making a positive difference.

Thank you to everyone who has placed their trust in me over the past five years. I remain committed to serving with fairness, integrity, compassion, and respect for every person who comes before the court.

Here’s to continuing the work of strengthening families, protecting children, and serving our community with humility and purpose. Thank you for allowing me to serve. ⚖️
