Meals on Wheels and More provides nutritionally balanced, home delivered meals. We also provide lunch Your gift of any amount will make a difference.

Meals on Wheels and More supports the health and independence of homebound seniors by delivering nutritious meals to the homes of hundreds of at-risk older adults throughout Whatcom and San Juan Counties. Meals on Wheels and more are provided on a donation-only basis. Participants are asked to contribute as able, but nobody will be turned away due to inability to donate. We also have the Community Meals Program which offers older adults the opportunity to connect with others while enjoying a freshly prepared and nutritionally balanced meal. Hot meals are served at 9 locations in Whatcom County and 3 locations in San Juan County. You can get involved to help ensure no senior in our community goes hungry. We depend on donations and grants in order to meet the growing need for our services. You can also contribute my volunteering. Volunteers are vital to the success of our program!

Today, we celebrate Día de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead), a beautiful tradition that honors the lives and memories of loved ones who are no longer with us.

Our ofrenda (offering altar) is a special place to remember those who have touched our lives. Adorned with colorful flowers, photographs, candles, and meaningful keepsakes, it serves as a reminder that love never fades and the memories we carry are always with us. 💛

Members are also welcome to add items of remembrance to the altar. We ask that you label items and a staff member will assist you in placing it.

Earlier this month the Whatcom Council on Aging recognized a generous gift from Puget Sound Energy for our Meals on Wheels & More program, and highlighted the Board, staff, volunteers and community partners who make this program work! Generous grants from Puget Sound Energy funded two new Subaru Solterra EVs, a Ford E-Transit Cargo Van, and charging stations at our Bellingham Senior Activity Center North site. These EVs will help deliver 150,000+ meals annually to more than 500 Whatcom County homebound seniors. Rocio Castillo-Foell, Puget Sound Energy's Sr Community Engagement Representative, and County Executive Satpal Sidhu joined our volunteer drivers to make our first deliveries with the new vehicles!

For some of our neighbors hunger is a daily concern. A nutritious meal means one less worry and the comfort of knowing someone cares. Any amount is greatly appreciated, thank you!🌷
