Lou Cappelli found time to call President Trump a "traitor" on the official Camden County website. Meanwhile, South Jersey workers are taking hits.

Comcast just notified the state it will lay off 119 New Jersey workers across 9 counties, including Camden and Gloucester, effective Jan. 27. It is one of 119 mass layoff notices filed in NJ so far this year, covering 14,651 workers.

Comcast is restructuring nationwide. But when jobs disappear, New Jersey families face one of the toughest climbs in America:
📉 NJ ranks 49th of 50 in tax competitiveness (Tax Foundation 2026)
🏠 Camden County has one of the top 5 property tax burdens of 3,100+ U.S. counties
💸 Camden County's tax levy climbed from $322.8M in 2024 to $333.0M in 2026

Lou blames Trump. We blame decades of one-party Democrat rule in Trenton and Camden County, and the taxes that come with it. In our opinion, a county representative who is paid to serve every resident, regardless of party, but spends his energy on national name-calling while his own levy keeps climbing is a fraud on the issues that matter most.

Incumbents get a megaphone that taxpayers pay for. Here is what it looked like in Camden County this month:

Oct. 16: a county press release on Commissioner Jonathan Young's personal civic award.
Oct. 21: a county-hosted town hall where Commissioner Young and Rep. Donald Norcross, both on the Nov. 3 ballot, delivered remarks.
Oct. 22: the county's official X account and website carried Commissioner Director Lou Cappelli Jr.'s political statement.

And here at home, the township website bills GTWorks as "Mayor David Mayer's weekly newsletter."

Our pledge, for every Gloucester Township Republican in office:
1. Official channels for official business.
2. Township newsletters carry the township's name, not an officeholder's.
3. No public money for branded events built around an officeholder.
4. If a communication comes close to ELEC's line, we report it.

Early voting runs today, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and tomorrow, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Closest site: Elections & Archive Center, 100 University Ct., Blackwood.

The Swamps of Jersey take care of their own.

Trenton insiders are rewriting state law so a State Police retiree can be appointed superintendent without reenrolling in the pension system. Translation: a $132,000 a year pension AND a $210,000 salary, at the same time. A double dip, written into law.

This is not about the new State Police superintendent or her 26 years of service. It is about a Trenton system that keeps bending the rules for its friends and neighbors.

Bill A5034 passed the Assembly 61 to 14 on May 18. Our LD4 Assemblymen, Dan Hutchison and Cody Miller, both voted YES. It now waits on a full Senate vote.

Drain the Swamps of Jersey.

Where's the contract, Mayor Mayer?

Mayor Dave Mayer appointed Assemblyman Dan Hutchison as Gloucester Township solicitor on Jan. 3, and the all-Democrat council consented 7 to 0. POLITICO reported his pay at $175,000, versus $96,675 for his predecessor. The job's salary cap went from $142,000 in 2024 to $210,700 in 2026, and council approved the 2026 cap 7 to 0. Six firms on the same appointment list gave Hutchison's Assembly campaigns $35,200 since 2023. His contract has not been posted on the township website.

That's on top of his $82,000 Assembly salary and public defender contracts awarded this year in two other towns. Dancing Dan's double dip.

Republican Asm. Jay Webber's A3220 would end it. Zero hearings since Jan. 13 in a Democrat-run committee where LD4's Cody Miller sits.

Mayer and council: post the contract. Hutchison and Miller: support A3220. Drain the Swamps of Jersey.

Every voter should know New Jersey's 90-day rule for incumbents.

Under ELEC regulations (N.J.A.C. 19:25-10.10 and 10.11), the window for the Nov. 3 election opened Aug. 5, 2026. Since then, communications by or for an incumbent's office that reach his voters and refer to his governmental or political objectives or achievements, made with his consent, are political communications that must be reported. If another entity pays for them, they are reported as in-kind contributions.

On Oct. 22, Camden County's official X account and the county website published a political statement by Commissioner Director Lou Cappelli Jr., who is on the Nov. 3 ballot. Under the rule, he must report it.

Our pledge: official channels for official business. Campaign messages come from campaign accounts, paid with campaign money. If something comes close to the line, we report it.

Read the rule at elec.nj.gov, then vote Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Today, Camden County Democrats held a "Utility Assistance Day" to sign families up for help with their bills. If you need help, get it. You did nothing wrong. But here's how we got here:

⚡ Electric bills jumped 17% to 20% on June 1, 2025.

⚡ The last two state budgets shifted $345 million in ratepayer Clean Energy Fund money to NJ Transit and the state budget. Our LD4 Democrats, Sen. Paul Moriarty and Assemblymen Dan Hutchison and Cody Miller, voted YES both times.

⚡ Gov. Sherrill promised a rate freeze, yet NJ home electric prices ran 7.9% higher from January to August 2026 than a year earlier. The relief was one $25 credit.

Families deserve lower bills, not sign-up days. Stop raiding the money on your bill, build more power in New Jersey, and cut costs at the source.

Lower bills, not photo ops. Vote Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Holding the levy does not mean cutting police. It means growing revenue the right way and spending smarter.

In 2026, employee health insurance alone rose about $2.86 million in the township budget, to $13.82 million. Pressures like that need a plan, not a pass-through to your bill.

Our plan:
1. A shared services and efficiency review (snow removal, fleet, IT, purchasing) targeting $1 to $2 million a year in savings within 18 months.
2. A dedicated grants effort with yearly targets for outside dollars.
3. New commercial ratables in the right places, with infrastructure first and no deals that shift cost onto existing homes.
