The Idaho delegation was very busy this week meeting with our Congress and Senators discussing EMS issues. We advocated for the CARE ACT, the Blood Rescue Act, EMS Counts Act, PARA-EMT act, SIREN-Act, Honor Our Emergency Medical Services, the Community Paramedic Act, Addressing Critical Challenges Facing EMS, and the Freedom House Ambulance Service Congressional Gold Medal Act! Idaho and Washington joined forces and met with both states! 8 congressional meetings!

Online Legislative Service 06/02/2025

Part of our responsibility as the Idaho Chapter of NAEMT is to inform and engaged you all on federal legislation that impacts EMS—not just here in Idaho, but across the country.

I’d like to ask each of you to take a few moments to visit the NAEMT Online Legislative Service (OLS) at the following link:
https://www.naemt.org/advocacy/online-legislative-service #/

Once there, you can enter your name and address, and the system will generate a letter that will be sent directly to our federal Representatives and Senators from Idaho.
We are currently seeking congressional support for key initiatives that directly affect our operations and patient care:
• Treatment in Place – Enables EMS to bill for care provided without transport when clinically appropriate.
• Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) – Supports reimbursement for community paramedicine services.
• SIREN Grant Program – Provides federal grant opportunities for rural EMS agencies to obtain critical funding for equipment, training, and personnel.
These are vital programs that enhance our ability to serve the public, improve care, and sustain our operations.
Thank you all for your continued commitment and support in advancing our profession and the services we provide.
