Water supply update on the Henry's Fork Basin!
🎣Current Conditions as of 4/24/26🎣
🌧️ A boost from recent storms. Moderate to heavy precipitation pushed water-year totals up to 98% of average, with April trending wetter than March.
❄️ Snowpack saw a short-term rebound. New snow increased SWE to 81% of peak, though still well below typical for this time of year and among the lowest on record for the date.
🌡️ Cooler now, warming ahead. Temperatures dropped below average yesterday but are expected to return to near- to above-average levels with lighter precipitation into next week.
🌊 Flows improving—but still below normal. Natural flow increased with recent rain and snowmelt but remains around 75% of average, while diversion continues running well above normal for the date.
💧 Reservoirs remain in strong shape. Island Park Reservoir is now 95% full (89% average), though gains are expected to slow without additional precipitation. System-wide storage is near average after recent declines.
🎣 Water quality remains favorable. Cooler temperatures have helped slow hatch timing slightly, while turbidity remains below average despite minor increases from recent runoff.
