🎃👻 HALLOWEEN SAFETY TIPS FOR KIDS AND GROWN-UPS! 🍬🚗
Halloween is almost here, and the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office wants everyone to have a fun, safe and SPOOKTACULAR time! Whether you're trick-or-treating with the kids, handing out candy or heading to a Halloween party, please keep these safety tips in mind!
🍬 For Our Little Ghosts & Goblins:
Always trick-or-treat with a responsible adult or in a supervised group.
Wear bright colors, reflective materials or carry a flashlight so drivers can see you.
Stay on sidewalks when possible and cross streets at designated crosswalks.
Never enter a stranger's home or vehicle.
Have an adult check your candy before eating it.
Make sure costumes fit properly and don't block your vision.
🚗 For Drivers:
SLOW DOWN! Expect extra pedestrian traffic, especially in neighborhoods.
Watch carefully for children who may dart into the street.
Put the phone down and stay focused on the road.
Use extra caution at intersections, driveways and crosswalks.
NEVER drive impaired!
🎉 For Adults Celebrating Halloween:
If your plans include alcohol, designate a sober, licensed driver BEFORE the festivities begin.
Use a rideshare service or taxi if you don't have a designated driver.
Keep an eye on your friends and make sure everyone gets home safely.
Be mindful of children and families out enjoying the evening.
🧡 A little extra caution goes a long way!
Our deputies will be out working to help keep our communities safe, but we need everyone to do their part.
From Sheriff Chism and all of us at the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office, have a HAPPY, SAFE and SPOOKY HALLOWEEN! 🎃👻🍭
Remember: The scariest thing on Halloween should be the costumes, NOT the drive home! 🚔
