What a day at our 4th Annual Heartshare Golf Outing! Huge thanks to our Board of Directors and the Rockaway Hunting Club for making it possible.
Shout-out to the golfers who helped our young people in foster care from Heartshare’s American Dream Program discover their swing (future pros alert!). And our student-run businesses, Bake & Bloom and Ash & Co—from Heartshare’s school for students with disabilities—for bringing treats, smiles, and hands-on fun. Grateful to everyone who made this event a hole-in-one for Heartshare! ⛳️

May is National Foster Care Month—a time to celebrate the resilience of youth in foster care and the power of supportive communities. Our story began over a century and a half ago with the establishment of our first home for young working boys in 1869, followed by our 66 Boreum home in 1906 that still serves as one of our headquarters today.
In 1997, the American Dream Program (ADP) was established, which uses research-based mentorship, educational advocacy, and trauma-informed support to improve outcomes for youth in care.
Today, Network 66, our foster care alumni network, leads the way in sharing crucial life skills for youth transitioning out of care — driven by leaders who have lived this journey themselves.
Head to heartshare.org for more on our foster care programs and stay tuned all month long for inspiring stories from our community.

Excited to share that Airbnb is giving back by providing 1,000 FIFA World Cup 2026™ tickets to local youth across New York and New Jersey, and Heartshare has been named one of their community partners! This incredible initiative means the next generation gets to experience one of the biggest sporting events in their own backyard.
Thank you, Airbnb, for investing in young people and helping ensure more youth feel seen, included, and inspired.
A very special thanks to Heartshare Champion and New York City Council Member Rita Joseph for recommending Heartshare for this initiative and championing our youth. Councilmember Joseph stated, “This initiative is about more than access to a game, it is about expanding horizons, inspiring dreams, and affirming for our young people, especially those in foster care, that they belong in every space the world has to offer.”
