National First Responders Day!

A special thank you to our community partners, DiStefano Insurance Services, Inc., for stopping by the fire station today and treating our Canal Fulton - Lawrence Township Fire Department firefighters and Canal Fulton Police (Ohio) police officers to lunch!

We appreciate the thoughtful gesture and continued support. It’s always great to see our community come together to recognize those who answer the call.

Thank you for thinking of us! 🍕🚒

On July 16, 2026 at approximately 2:50pm, Canal Fulton Police responded to a bomb threat at Sluggers & Putters (333 Lafayette Drive). Upon arrival, the park and surrounding areas were evacuated, a perimeter was established, and specialty units from Canton Police and Summit County were contacted to assist with K-9s.

The area was searched and the threats were unfounded. The incident was determined to be a swatting call, and there was no credible threat to the public.

Public safety is our highest priority. Swatting incidents cause unnecessary risk to the public, and are burdensome on our emergency resources. This type of false reporting is taken very seriously and an investigation will continue to identify any suspect(s).

CFPD has received lots of reports about e-bikes recently. E‑bikes are fun, fast, and convenient. But they come with responsibilities.

A few key reminders:
• Follow all traffic laws and signals
• Stay off sidewalks in business districts
• Helmet use is strongly encouraged for all riders
• Class 3 e‑bikes are restricted from multi‑use trails

Let’s work together to keep our roads and paths safe for riders, pedestrians, and drivers.
