SEMSWA was proud to be recognized with our project partners at today's Colorado American Public Works Association (APWA) awards and luncheon for our role in administration of the High Line Canal STAMP project!

The High Line Canal Stormwater Transition and Management Plan (STAMP)
represents a monumental accomplishment in public infrastructure
administration, providing a roadmap for transitioning the High Line Canal
from its historic role as an irrigation delivery system into a sustainable, multi-purpose regional greenway that preserves its environmental, recreational,
and community value while incorporating stormwater conveyance as a
compatible future use. The plan was led by the Mile High Flood District
(MHFD) in partnership with Arapahoe County Open Spaces and numerous
local stakeholders and jurisdictions along the Canal corridor.

Revegetation is one of the most important steps in completing a construction project. The goal isn't just to build. It's to restore disturbed land with healthy vegetation that reduces erosion, improves water quality, and creates more resilient landscapes.

If you're developing or building within the SEMSWA service area, start thinking about revegetation before the first shovel hits the ground. Successful revegetation helps protect local waterways, cut down on construction costs by closing your project quicker, and keep soil where it belongs.

Rain is in the forecast.

Periods of heavy rain are expected tonight and tomorrow, which could lead to higher creek flows, ponding on roadways, and localized flooding in low-lying areas.

As the storm moves through the area, please remember:

- Never drive through flooded roadways.
- Keep children and pets away from flowing water and drainage channels.
- Allow extra travel time and use caution during your commute.
- Stay weather-aware and follow local forecasts and alerts.

Stormwater systems are designed to manage rainfall, but intense storms can quickly change conditions. Even a small amount of moving water can create dangerous situations.

SEMSWA will be monitoring conditions throughout the event. We're committed to helping protect people, property, and our waterways.

Stay safe, stay dry, and remember: Turn Around, Don't Drown. đź’§
