Today is Denim Day, a moment during S*xual Assault Awareness Month to stand with survivors and call out a harmful myth: what someone wears is never an invitation or consent.

Denim Day began after a court decision in Italy shifted blame onto a survivor’s clothing instead of holding the offender accountable. In response, people around the world started wearing denim as a way to push back against victim-blaming and show support for survivors.

Chief Deputy DA Chris Gallo and Consumer Fraud Protection Director Jamie Sorrells joined Arapahoe County Commissioners in signing a proclamation recognizing S*xual Assault Awareness Month.
