Earlier this year, the 18th Judicial District Attorney's Office presented Det. Brian Lippa with the Outstanding Law Enforcement Investigator Award for his work on a s*x assault case at Pirates Cove Water Park in Englewood last summer. The defendant, Trenton Moscovita, ultimately pleaded guilty and was sentenced to more than two decades in prison. You can hear from the police detective below and learn more about this case here:

This week, Trenton Moskovita, 19, was sentenced to 22 years in prison followed by 10 years to life of SOISP (S*x Offender Intensive Supervised Probation) for s*xually assaulting a young girl at Pirates Cove Water Park last summer. You can read more about this case here:

***MEDIA RELEASE***
Following a 7-day trial, an Arapahoe County jury found Hector Delarosa, 21, guilty of Child Abuse Resulting in Death in the 2024 death of his newborn daughter.
Medical experts determined the 10-day-old infant's injuries could not have resulted from an accident. Delarosa will be sentenced next month.

Today is Denim Day, a moment during S*xual Assault Awareness Month to stand with survivors and call out a harmful myth: what someone wears is never an invitation or consent.
Denim Day began after a court decision in Italy shifted blame onto a survivor’s clothing instead of holding the offender accountable. In response, people around the world started wearing denim as a way to push back against victim-blaming and show support for survivors.

The 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, in partnership with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office hosted its 9th Annual Victims’ Rights Week Ceremony this week. The event brought together approximately 200 attendees in recognizing multiple prosecutors, victim advocates, law enforcement officials, and organizations dedicated to supporting crime victims and pursuing justice on their behalf.
