⚖️ FRESH START: WARRANT FORGIVENESS DAY

This Saturday, October 17, the Arapahoe District Court will host Warrant Forgiveness Day, giving individuals with certain qualifying active warrants an opportunity to address their cases in court without being arrested on those warrants.

🚨 IMPORTANT: This event does NOT dismiss criminal charges or erase pending cases. It provides an opportunity for eligible individuals to resolve outstanding warrants and take the next steps toward resolving their cases through the court system.

Meaningful conversations help build stronger, safer communities.

Last week, District Attorney Amy Padden joined Commissioner Rhonda Fields, Aurora Police Chief Todd Chamberlain, and Arapahoe County Sheriff Tyler Brown for a public safety town hall.

These discussions provide an important opportunity to hear from community members, address public safety concerns, and strengthen partnerships between law enforcement and the people we serve.

A Denver man who helped an accomplice steal two English Bulldog puppies by distracting pet store employees was sentenced today to two years in prison. The second defendant, Jonathan Muniz, was sentenced earlier this year to eight years in prison.

For the record, both English bulldogs were eventually found and returned.

We are honored to join From Silenced To Saved and our partner agencies for the One Mile Closer to Hope walk in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

For us, this work is personal. Every day, our prosecutors, victim advocates and staff see the impact domestic violence can have on individuals and families. Standing alongside survivors and the people and organizations working to support them is an important part of our commitment to seeking justice and building safer communities.

Last week, we announced the arrests of an inmate and a defense attorney.

Their arrests follow an investigation into the alleged introduction and distribution of methamphetamine and other contraband at the Arapahoe County Detention Facility. Formal charges are set to be filed Thursday morning.

NOTE: All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. While cases are proceeding through the justice system, publicly available records shall be requested via the Courts.

***MEDIA RELEASE***

A Denver man who carjacked a victim at gunpoint, led authorities on a high-speed pursuit and fired multiple shots at officers pleaded guilty in court this morning to Aggravated Robbery and two counts of Attempted First-Degree Murder.

Daniel Reynaldo Tolentino, 44, will be sentenced in November and faces 50 to 80 years in prison. Case details can be found here:
