Dr. Tom Takubo, WV State Senate Dr. Tom Takubo is a physician and privileged to represent the West Virginia State Senate in District 17. Tom knows the value of hard work.

Born and raised in West Virginia, Dr. Tom Takubo's father was a coal miner and his mother was a school teacher. Dr. Takubo's first experience with healthcare was in Emergency Medical Services where he was named paramedic of the year and even competed in national EMS competitions representing the state of West Virginia. After attending Marshall University, Dr. Takubo received his medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. In addition to his current medical practice, Dr. Takubo is still medical faculty for West Virginia University. Dr. Takubo did his specialty training in Pulmonology and critical care after having watched his father suffer from black lung and lung cancer. Dr. Takubo is widely recognized as having brought the most advanced lung diagnostics system to West Virginia. Currently, Dr. Tom Takubo is a successful business owner and partner in one of the most unique lung centers in the country. Dr. Takubo's experience as a healthcare provider and business owner put him in a unique position to help guide the state through some of its most pressing issues: providing jobs and providing access to affordable healthcare. Tom resides in the Southridge area of South Charleston and has three children.

Throughout our state, West Virginia families trust our educators with their most precious gift: their children.

Our teachers and school service personnel carry that responsibility every single day. They deserve someone in Charleston they can trust, too.

I'm honored to be endorsed by the American Federation of Teachers-West Virginia and Education West Virginia. I won't take that trust for granted.

TODAY is the LAST DAY of early voting, 9 AM – 5 PM | Election Day: Tuesday, Nov 3

The people who represent the foundation of our West Virginia communities are standing with us!

I'm honored to be endorsed by the Home Builders Association of West Virginia, the Contractors Association of West Virginia, and the West Virginia Association of REALTORS®.

They build our homes, our roads, and our communities, and they help families find a place to call home. I'll keep fighting for the jobs and growth that keep West Virginia moving forward.

TOMORROW is the last day of early voting! Sat, Oct 31 | Election Day: Nov 3

Getting the endorsement of those in the medical community that know me best is humbling.

I'm honored to be endorsed by the West Virginia Hospital Association, the West Virginia Dental Association, WESPAC (West Virginia Medical Political Action Committee), and West Virginia ACEP.

These are the healthcare professionals who care for West Virginians every single day. I'll keep fighting for them, and for every patient they serve, in Charleston.

Early voting ends THIS SATURDAY, Oct 31 | Election Day: Nov 3

Tori and I were honored to volunteer at West Virginia Health Right's Day last Saturday in Charleston.

Hundreds of West Virginians came out for free dental, vision, and medical care. Some had been waiting in line since the day before. Many of them work hard and are trying to make ends meet, and healthcare costs are becoming a real struggle, even for middle-class families.

Thank you to Angie Settle and the entire Health Right team, who serve about 48,000 patients across 35 counties every year. This is West Virginians taking care of West Virginians.

Early voting is open now through Oct 31 | Election Day: Nov 3

Aviation is key to West Virginia's future.

On a recent visit to Marshall's flight school, I saw just how far it's come. Four years ago it started with fewer than 20 students and 2 planes. Today it has more than 350 students, 12 planes, and 2 helicopters, and the first two electric planes arrive in January 2027.

These electric planes will allow package deliveries to remote areas 150–200 miles away, using about $6 worth of electricity and with almost no maintenance cost. Our students will learn to fly them too

President Smith said it best: West Virginia provided the wood for the Wright brothers' first plane. We gave the nation Tuskegee Airmen, the Rocket Boys, Katherine Johnson, Chuck Yeager, and so many more. Marshall is writing the next chapter.

Great to spend time with State Treasurer, Larry Pack, and other Legislative and community leaders to celebrate with Union Mission and hear about their vision for the future.

Pictured is the new construction for Kanawha County's only ADA-compliant Level 3 men's recovery program. Union Mission's goal is simple but powerful: rehabilitate these men, reunite them with their families, and return them to our community unbroken.

I'm always moved by the incredible compassion so many people bring to this work. Programs like this are exactly what the WV First Foundation should be supporting.

Early voting starts Wednesday! Oct 21 – 31 | Election Day: Nov 3
