💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜
Domestic violence (DV) and intimate partner violence (IPV) affect people of every age, gender, background, and community. We support & believe survivors. Please join us in raising awareness and share with your network that help is available.
According to the CDC, more than 1 in 3 women and more than 1 in 6 men have experienced sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner during their lifetime.
Research also shows that LGBTQIA2S+ individuals experience intimate partner violence at disproportionately high rates. Lifetime IPV has been reported by 61% of bisexual women, 44% of le***an women, and 37% of bisexual men. More than half (54%) of transgender and non-binary individuals report experiencing intimate partner violence during their lifetime.
