❤️ A Powerful Reminder of Why We Do What We Do ❤️

This summer, Austin, Jered, and Colin responded to a 911 call to care for Harlow. What began as an emergency response became the first link in a chain of care at MU Health Care that continues today as Harlow bravely fights leukemia.

Recently, they had the opportunity to meet Harlow and her family again—this time under much better circumstances. It was a powerful and emotional moment, bringing together the EMS crew who cared for her that day and the family whose journey continues.

Moments like these remind us that what we do in EMS reaches far beyond the call itself. Every response matters. Every patient matters. And the care we provide can be the beginning of a journey that continues long after we leave the scene.

Thank you, Harlow and her family, for sharing this special moment with us. We’re cheering you on every step of the way!

Congratulations to Matthew Hodge and Carter Sanderson on completing the MU Health Care EMS Education paramedic program. Both have successfully challenged the national registry and are ready to begin their paramedic journey. Congratulations and great work!

Trevor Stein and Jessica Talbert received a “Great Catch” award during morning staff meeting. Trevor and Jessica recognized a patient in clinical decline prior to transporting the patient home. Great recognition and great job making sure the patient’s medical needs were addressed.

Busy weekend of cross country medical coverage. MU Health Care is at Gans Creek Friday and Saturday supporting medical coverage at one of Mid Missouri’s premiere cross country courses. College and high school racing at the Gans Creek Classic hosted by Columbia Parks and Rec. Good luck to all the runners!
