**Cherokee County Heat Advisory**
The National Weather Service has issued a **Heat Advisory** for Cherokee County from **noon Tuesday, June 9, until 7:00 AM Wednesday, June 10.**
Heat index values up to **104Β°** are expected.
Hot temperatures and high humidity can lead to heat-related illness. Please take precautions:
β’ Drink plenty of water
β’ Stay in air conditioning when possible
β’ Avoid extended time outdoors
β’ Check on elderly neighbors, family, pets, and those without reliable cooling
β’ Never leave children or pets inside a vehicle

Free Fishing Weekend - This Saturday and Sunday, June 6 & 7, no Kansas fishing license is needed. Residents and out-of-state visitors may enjoy fishing on any public waters. Other regulations remain in effect including local fishing permits where required.
