What an incredible evening celebrating the educators who make East Dallas stronger every single day! 🍎✨

On May 13, the Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce proudly hosted our 2026 Teacher of the Year Awards at Waters Edge Winery Kalispell and Bistro Event Center, bringing together educators, community leaders, business partners, and supporters from across East Dallas to honor the teachers shaping the next generation.

We were honored to hear inspiring remarks from Dallas ISD Trustee Dan Micciche and Dallas City Council Mayor Pro Tem Jesse Moreno, who both highlighted the importance of supporting and celebrating our educators.

Congratulations to our 2026 Teacher of the Year recipients:
⭐ Addison Shierry — Lakehill Preparatory School
⭐ CSM Leon Johnson — Emmett J. Conrad High School
⭐ Tammy Gore — Dallas Academy
⭐ Stephan Davis — J.L. Long Middle School
⭐ Astrid Fuentes — Cosmos Montessori School
⭐ Maggie Dansdill — Merriman Park Elementary School

Each recipient received a $500 cash award in recognition of their dedication, leadership, innovation, and impact on students throughout our community.

A huge thank you to our amazing sponsors and partners who helped make this celebration possible, including the White Rock YMCA, Brain Balance Centers, MGG Leadership, Cosmic Minds Fund Inc., Hillside Insurance Services, FASTSIGNS, April Barnes Photography, Greet Lakewood, Stroll M Streets, and Greet Lake Highlands.

We’re especially excited to continue celebrating our nominated educators throughout the year through our partnership with the Greet and Stroll neighborhood publications.
