đź’™ Young Samaritans in action! đź’™

The Young Samaritans Club spent their FLEX time spreading warmth, joy, and kindness through two meaningful community service projects. Students made fleece tie-blankets for recipients of the Good Samaritans Youth Bed Program and created heartfelt birthday cards for elders who may not otherwise receive one, through the Love for the Elderly organization. đź’Ś

We are so proud of our students for spreading kindness and making a difference! ❤️

The sound of flowers, onions, and crackers being smashed against linoleum rang out from the science hall today as Dr. Elena Krick demonstrated the effects of liquid nitrogen on various everyday items. Students in a range of science classes, including chemistry, physics, and astronomy, watched as Krick turned what could have been an ordinary lecture into a period full of student engagement.

Demonstrating for Kindergarten students during Fire Prevention Week, juniors Mikayla Arner and Maxwell Chamberlain simulate the noises students might hear if an emergency occurred. Arner explained that she and Chamberlain turned on their air packs and called out as if they were looking for someone trapped and in need of rescue. The two junior volunteers completed 4 demonstrations for Primary students on Friday. The highlight of Arner’s day happened when a student asked for a picture with her. Arner hopes that the demonstrations will inspire more youth to serve their community as volunteer firefighters or EMS.
