Congrats! October All-Star Team Member of the Month!
It is our great privilege at CRIS to recognize and praise Leslie Miller, Community Care Unit Coordinator, as the All-Star of the Month for October!

This acknowledgement comes as no surprise to anyone who has worked with Leslie. Her position as a care coordinator directly aligns with her love of being out in the community and meeting new people. She exemplifies dedication, flexibility, and a strong sense of teamwork while supporting her fellow CCU team members.

Since coming on board the CRIS Team 3 years ago, Leslie has quickly become knowledgeable in her job duties and fiercely reliable. Her attention to fine details of CCU work with an ever-changing workload has significantly shined through with the implementation of a new assessment system. Leslie helps clients and CRIS team members navigate the complex system of in-home care while aiding in activities to support the overall needs of the department, going above and beyond the requirements of her coordinator role. Leslie can often be found answering questions, keeping the atmosphere in the department light with jokes and promoting interdepartmental collaboration through referrals.

Outside of work Leslie enjoys gardening, building Lego kits (bonus points if they’re Harry Potter), puzzles and spending time with her family bowling. She is an avid reader and essential part of both the CCU and CRIS Team. Please join us once again in congratulating Leslie on her well-deserved accolades celebrating the commitment she has to CRIS and the clients we serve in the community!

Look who is visiting CRIS today and bringing additional services to our clients at our Danville location. The Carle Mobile Health Clinic is scheduled 9-4pm and the Mobile Market is scheduled 9-3pm. We hope to see you soon!

It's hard to believe that yesterday marked the last day for our Garden Share program for 2026. We had 28 attendees and everyone was able to receive a small Ziploc bag of concord grapes! Additional items included tomatoes, zucchini, Cuca melon, sweet and hot peppers, pawpaws, okra, green beans, tomatillos, as well as fresh dill, sage, stevia, and basil.

We would like to thank everyone for their support, assistance and fresh items! We will still accept donations for our older adults and keep them fresh in the refrigerator for pick up.

CRIS is offering free CEUs for licensed individuals who enroll in our "Abuse in Later Life" training on Friday, September 25th. This in-depth training was developed specifically for community leaders and professionals. Please review the flyer concerning the CEUs available for specific licensures. We have limited seating, so please make your reservations with Heather ASAP. This project is supported by Grant No. 15JOVW-24-GK-01588-ALLX awarded by the Office on Violence Against Women, U.S. Department of Justice.

Happy Labor Day to those whose dedication & perseverance continue to shape a stronger future.
