Let's talk about time change. This is a great reminder to review your home safety plan. If you don't have working smoke alarms, get some and test them monthly. If your alarm is more than 10 years old, replace it. If your alarm still uses a standard battery, replace the battery. Make sure your home heating equipment is ready for cold weather. Have a plan to get out in an emergency. Together, we can build a safer community.

You did it! You helped us meet and exceed our goal for smoke alarm installations during the statewide blitz, completely depleting our supply! Our crews have been working nonstop to install smoke alarms and make our community safer. The good news is we aren't done. We are restocked and ready for anyone who may have missed the blitz.

City of Danville residents can request free smoke alarm installations through the Danville Fire Department's Community Connect program. Firefighters will assist eligible residents with installing smoke alarms in appropriate locations throughout their homes.
