As you head out for a night of trick-or-treating, keep these safety tips in mind to help make sure everyone has a fun and safe Halloween! 🎃🍬

👻 For Trick-or-Treaters:

Carry a flashlight or glow stick so you can be seen.
Use sidewalks and crosswalks whenever possible.
Look both ways before crossing the street.
Stay with your group and make sure an adult knows your route.
Only visit homes with their porch light on.
Wait until you get home to have an adult inspect your candy.

🚗 For Drivers:

Slow down and be alert in residential neighborhoods.
Watch for children crossing streets and walking near roadways.
Eliminate distractions and keep your eyes on the road.
Be especially cautious during peak trick-or-treating hours.

🏠 For Homeowners:

Keep walkways and porches well-lit and clear of obstacles.
Keep pets secured and away from trick-or-treaters.
Use battery-operated candles instead of open flames in decorations.

Let's work together to keep our little ghosts and goblins safe this Halloween! 🦇

From all of us at the Sugarcreek Township Police Department, have a SPOOKTACULAR Halloween! 🎃👮‍♂️
