It is with profound sadness that the members of The Attawaugan Fire District announce the
passing of Susan M. Larkin-Bessette, a longtime and valued member of our Board of Directors.
For many years, Susan M. Larkin-Bessette dedicated her time, knowledge and service to our department and the community we are proud to serve. Her years of involvement and
contributions helped shape our organization. Her presence will be greatly missed by fellow board
members, department members, and the community.
As a department, we are grateful for the years of dedication and service Susan M. Larkin-
Bessette gave to our organization. Her impact will not be forgotten, and her memory will remain
a part of our department's family for years to come.
On behalf of the Board of Directors and the entire membership of The Attawaugan Fire District, we extend our deepest condolences to Susan M. Larkin-Bessette's family, friends, and loved ones as they navigate this tremendous loss. Our thoughts are with all who knew and loved her.
Her dedication, service, and commitment to our department and community will forever be
remembered.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00PM at the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds Street, Danielson, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 11:00AM at St. James Church, 12 Franklin Street, Danielson, CT. There will be a burial immediately following the ceremony at Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson, CT.
Rest in peace, Susan M. Larkin-Bessette. Thank you for your years of dedication and service to
our department and community. You will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
