Texoma Family Shelter Texoma Family Shelter is a 501(c)(3) non-profit homeless shelter for displaced families and singles. Operating expenses are paid from donations and grants.
(1)

The only shelter in Grayson County providing temporary housing for homeless families. The Shelter receives no local, county, state or federal government funding. Residents must be able to pass a drug screen and the Shelter does not function as a domestic abuse crisis facility. Shelter staff can assist with redirecting people for those services.

Sharing is Caring! Yesterday, we had a Texoma Homeless Coalition meeting at the Texoma Family Shelter Smith Training Center. Along with speakers from the Texas Homeless Network and Sherman Housing Authority, we were able to share our Walmart general merchandise donations with other nonprofits, including The Callie Clinic, Family Promise of Grayson County, The Salvation Army Grayson County, United Way of Grayson County, Meals on Wheels Texoma, and many others. Partnerships make the world go around, and working together, we build a stronger Texoma! Thank you, Walmart!

🍎 Hunger is a real issue here in Texoma.

The numbers are sobering. In Grayson, Fannin, Cooke, and Bryan Counties, 47,400 people—including more than 17,000 children—experience food insecurity. And in every county, the percentage of children facing food insecurity is even higher than the overall rate.

That’s why Texoma Family Shelter’s Food Pantry is open 7 days a week from 1-7 pm, 365 days a year. As the only local food pantry open evenings, weekends, and holidays, we provide food boxes and other essentials to our neighbors who are struggling to make ends meet—including working families and seniors.

If you or someone you know needs help, we’re here - so please share.

And if you’re able to help, food donations and financial support allow us to keep our pantry stocked and available to our community. You can drop off donations at the shelter (331 W. Morton Street in Denison) or if you’d prefer to support our pantry financially, use the link below:

Together, we can make sure fewer of our neighbors go hungry.

👋 Meet the Heart Behind the Meals at TFS! ❤️

Who makes sure our residents have a clean, safe kitchen and a nutritious meal on the table? Meet Kodi, our Primary Cook!

Her job goes far beyond cooking. She keeps our kitchen running safely and efficiently, helps plan and prepare meals for our residents, and makes sure our food pantry is organized and ready—with food boxes prepared for neighbors who need a little extra help.

It’s a big job, and it makes a BIG difference! From the kitchen to the pantry, her work helps make sure that people who come through our doors are welcomed with something we all need: good food and a little hope. ❤️

We’re so thankful for all she does for our residents and our community!

Stay tuned as we introduce you to more of the amazing people who make HOPE LIVE HERE!

A Big Thank You to the AHS Sherman Medical Center Volunteers!

We’re so grateful for their generous $1,000 donation to Texoma Family Shelter. And for their service to our whole community - they serve 9 other local nonprofits and were out delivering donations and making lots of local agencies happy!

As people who spend their time caring for others, they understand the importance of compassion and helping people when they need it most. Thank you for extending that spirit of caring to our neighbors experiencing homelessness!

We appreciate you for helping us keep hope alive!
