Calling all library books 📣 It’s time to come home! We’re missing a big chunk of books from our FASD library, and while we love that they’ve been off on adventures, school is calling! 🌍📚

Please take a peek around the house for any books with our QR code label and send them back in backpacks along with their plastic zip pockets. Every book makes a difference for school! Merci beaucoup! 💙

🎨 What a year it’s been! One of the highlights? Having a dedicated Art Teacher on our team. Thank you, Ms. Ashton Davis, for guiding our students to create this stunning installation — every flower, butterfly, and little critter on this wall is a reflection of a year well spent.🌸🐛🐞🎨

From Our Principal (for the Day) Petty:

Dear FASD Families,
Today I created a budget, I visited classrooms, and I supported a safe and fun recess.

Some highlights from my day included: talking to students and helping them solve problems, and reminding students about positive behavior in the hallways.

I spent some time giving feedback to teachers about their great teaching. I also ate lunch in the office while I worked on projects and had meetings.

Maybe someday I would like to be a principal!

Have a great evening and see you soon!
Ms. Petty

A message of appreciation from our Executive Director, Kathy Duran ❤️

As we celebrate Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week, we are filled with gratitude for our entire school community—our dedicated educators, engaged students, and supportive families. This week has been truly special. Our staff has felt deeply appreciated through the thoughtful gestures, delicious treats, warm messages, and acts of kindness shared throughout the school. On behalf of our entire team, thank you for your generosity—it has meant so much, and the week isn’t even over yet!

It is clear that a kind, committed, and connected community creates the foundation for both joyful learning and academic excellence. When students are surrounded by families and educators who care deeply, they thrive—and we see that every day at our school.

In that spirit, we are especially proud to share that the French American School of Denver, the only public French immersion program within Denver Public Schools, was one of 22 schools to receive the prestigious John Irwin Schools of Excellence Award. This recognition reflects sustained excellence in academic achievement in math, literacy, and science, and speaks to the high expectations and shared commitment that define our community.

We are also honored to be recipients of the LabelFrancÉducation designation, a five-year recognition awarded by the French government to schools around the world that demonstrate excellence in bilingual French education and a strong commitment to promoting French language and culture.
These accomplishments are a direct reflection of the passion and expertise of our educators, the curiosity and effort of our students, and the partnership we share with our families. Together, we have built a vibrant bilingual environment where students grow academically and develop as global citizens.

During this week of appreciation, we celebrate not only these recognitions, but also the daily dedication that makes them possible. Thank you for being an essential part of what makes the French American School of Denver such a special place.

Merci Beaucoup!

In partnership,
Kathy

A message from FASD Principal (For the Day) Carscadden:

Good Afternoon FASD Families:
Today I was the principal and I had a lot of fun. I got into meetings, I created a budget, and had a budget meeting with the Board treasurer. I did a building walkthrough and checked for safety and things that need to be fixed. I greeted everyone this morning and observed many classes. I saw that our students were working hard and our teachers are nice and help students focus while they help them learn. I left some notes for teachers with feedback after my observations. I helped at recess and art with kinders. My favorite part of the day was greeting all of the students in the morning.

Merci!
