JUSTICE REMEMBERED: Honoring Victims, Supporting Survivors

On Oct. 20, First Assistant District Attorney Kristin McElroy was deeply honored to represent our office at A Woman’s Place’s annual Night of Remembrance at the James-Lorah Memorial Home.

As Domestic Violence Awareness Month draws to a close, we gathered alongside community leaders, allies and survivors to honor the precious lives lost, stand in solidarity with survivors, and reaffirm our commitment to lasting social change.

The evening concluded in the courtyard, where lit candles illuminated the solemn reading of the names of those lost to domestic violence.

While October brings extra focus to this cause, our commitment does not end when the month does. We remain steadfast every day in our mission to fight for justice, uphold safety, and support every survivor in our community. You are not alone.

This morning, granting the motion of District Attorney Joe Khan, bail was denied for Edward A. Eisenhard, a serial s*xual predator who targeted at least three female victims, including a 12-year-old girl and an employee at the Valley of Fear Halloween attraction.

This is the latest in a series of cases in which DA Khan has fulfilled his pledge to keep dangerous defendants behind bars without bail when no conditions can adequately ensure the safety of the community, starting with the pre-trial detention of a 26-year-old man who opened fire on a Bucks County drug task force serving a high-risk warrant in Philadelphia in January. This policy, which DA Khan initiated upon taking office, was also a key recommendation of the DA’s Transition Committee.

On Tuesday afternoon, DA Joe Khan announced the filing of new criminal charges against alleged serial predator Edward A. Eisenhard. Following the news of Eisenhard’s arrest for aggravated indecent assault on his employee at Five Below in Hilltown Township, where he was manager, two additional victims have come forward. The new charges include the strangulation and indecent assault of an employee at the Valley of Fear Halloween attraction in Lower Southampton Township, as well as the repeated abuse of a 12-year-old child.

DA Khan made a personal appeal for the public to assist in this ongoing investigation: “If you were victimized by this individual, please know that you are not alone. We will listen to you, we will fight for you, and we will do everything in our power to keep you and our community safe.”

Orenthia Upshur, of Trenton, N.J., entered the guilty plea in Bucks County Court for the Jan. 15, 2025, murder of 49-year-old Maisha C**n, also of Trenton. Following the plea, Common Pleas Judge Wallace H. Bateman Jr. immediately imposed the mandatory sentence of life imprisonment without parole.

Court testimony indicated that the two had been in a relationship spanning three decades and had gone to the hotel to address ongoing relationship issues before the encounter turned fatal, another tragic reminder of the lethal nature of domestic violence.

“This brutal act of domestic violence robbed Maisha C**n of her life and shattered the lives of those who loved her,” said Bucks County District Attorney Joe Khan. “While nothing can reverse this horrific tragedy, today’s life sentence ensures that the defendant will spend the rest of his days behind bars and can never harm another member of our community. I am deeply grateful to our prosecution team and law enforcement partners across state lines whose relentless efforts secured justice for Maisha and her family.”

A 52-year-old New Jersey man was sentenced today to mandatory life in prison without the possibility of parole after pleading guilty to first-degree murder and related charges in the fatal domestic violence shooting of his girlfriend at a...

On Friday, DA Joe Khan joined Falls Township Police Chief Nelson Whitney, State Rep. Jim Prokopiak, and Diane Rosati, Executive Director for the Bucks County Drug & Alcohol Commission, Inc., for a discussion hosted by the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce about kratom and its impact on our communities. DA Khan shared updates about the Office’s ongoing fight to protect children from the harmful substance, which most recently resulted in a historic legal action that shut down kratom sales to minors at Zaza V**e & Cigar Inc. in Buckingham Township.

Kratom constitutes a rapidly evolving public health and legal issue that can only be addressed through collaboration and education. The District Attorney’s Office has made it a priority to fully understand the scope of kratom’s impact and how the Office can use its legal tools to protect residents.

Justice Remembered: Honoring the Life of PPD Officer Shane Seiber

DA Joe Khan, Chief of Detectives Jack Slattery and other members of the Bucks County District Attorney's Office joined a procession of law enforcement from across Bucks County and the greater Philadelphia region this week to honor the life, service, and sacrifice of Philadelphia Police Officer Shane Seiber.

Officer Seiber, a 40-year-old husband, father, U.S. Air Force veteran, and Bucks County resident, was killed in the line of duty on Oct. 10, 2026, while responding to a call in West Philadelphia.

Following services at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia, attended by thousands of law enforcement personnel, local leaders, and loved ones, Officer Seiber was brought home to Bucks County for a private interment.

Known by those closest to him as a devoted protector who always showed up for the people he loved, Officer Seiber's legacy of courage, selflessness, and dedication to his community will never be forgotten.

We extend our deepest condolences to his wife, his children, his extended family, and his brothers and sisters in the Philadelphia Police Department.

Yesterday, DA Joe Khan, Chief of Detectives Jack Slattery and members of our office met with leaders of diverse communities and law enforcement leaders at Delaware Valley University for the second installment in the Safe From Hate Roundtable Series. The discussion touched upon recent incidents of hate here in Bucks County, the importance of being an active bystander, and working together with local and state law enforcement to improve the response to hate crimes. Building on the takeaways from our first roundtable last month, yesterday’s conversation yielded thoughtful insights into how our Office can prevent and respond to incidents of hate. We thank everyone who attended yesterday and look forward to continuing the conversation at our next roundtable on November 16 in Perkasie. We will do the hard work together to make sure that everyone in Bucks County feels safe from hate.
