It is with great sadness that the East Aurora Fire Department announces the passing of Past Chief David Meyer.

Chief Meyer dedicated a significant part of his life to serving the East Aurora community and the members of the East Aurora Fire Department. His leadership, commitment, and service helped shape our department and left a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of serving alongside him.

Today, we remember Chief Meyer not only for the position he held, but for the firefighter, leader, and friend he was to so many.

On behalf of the East Aurora Fire Department, we extend our deepest condolences to Chief Meyer’s family, friends, and all those who knew and worked alongside him.

Rest easy, Chief. Your service will not be forgotten.

Your watch is over. We’ve got it from here.

For many people that Tuesday was a beautiful clear day that changed at 8:46 AM. Please take a moment to honor the 2,977 victims, which include 343 FDNY firefighters, 23 NYPD police officers and countless other first responders that day that made the ultimate sacrifice.
