Michael Supej carved this jack-o’-lantern as part of a pumpkin-carving contest between three friendly academic groups at three different universities: Brett Fors’s group at Cornell University, Luis Campos’s group at Columbia University, and Corey Stephenson’s group at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. CHEMTOBERFEST 2026!!
What a great time today to kick off National Chemistry Week!! We had lots of fun demos (see videos in comments), Chem Club introduced themselves and faculty who gave a quick intro about their research and if they’re taking new research assistants, followed by a pizza social and then cookie decorating. The College of the Sciences Dean and Associate Dean even stopped by for demos!
