As we roll our clocks back one hour, we remind you to check your smoke detectors.
Working smoke detectors double your chance of surviving a fire in the home.

🚒 Investing in Education 📚

This week, three members of the Ephrata Fire Department attended the Fire and Life Safety Educator I course, expanding their knowledge and skills in fire prevention, public education, and community risk reduction.

We’re proud to share that our Administrative Assistant and two Volunteer Firefighter/EMTs successfully passed all of their IFSTA testing and have earned their Fire and Life Safety Educator I certification! 🎉👏

This training gives our members additional tools to provide meaningful fire and life safety education to our community—from our youngest residents to our adults and families.

Congratulations to all three on this accomplishment and for continuing to invest their time in making Ephrata a safer community! ❤️🚒

National Night Out has been rescheduled! Come and get to know our officers! Enjoy a free meal, play some co****le or do a scavenger hunt. Plus, get entered into a drawing for an Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet!

We were hoping for the best but the air quality has clearly gotten worse. Therefore we are postponing our National Night Out event. Once a new event date has been established we'll get that information out.

Know The difference: HEAT EXHAUSTION vs HEAT STROKE

07/18/2026

Fire resources are deployed all over the US. Level 5 indicates resources are scarce for another large fire event.
Grant County has been busy, but has avoided large fires through the last week.
Please be careful, check your tow chains, don’t cut brush during high heat/high wind events.

FIRE DANGER - US: the National Preparedness Level is now at 5. This is the highest level indicating national resources are now heavily committed in action against wildland fire activity. NWCC including Washington State is likewise at PL5.
