Hello October 😍!

“We love the 7x3 mpower® lights… Seeing SoundOff excel in the fire service is no surprise,” said Isaac Merkl of Grant County Fire District, 13. When asked why they choose SoundOff Signal, Merkle stated that "while Sound Off Signal products are top of the line, it’s their customer service that sets them apart! We are a small fire department but have never been treated like a small customer. Their customer service is unmatched!"

🇺🇸 25 YEARS. WE REMEMBER.

September 11, 2001 — a day that forever changed our nation.

Twenty-five years later, we remember the 2,977 lives lost, including the firefighters, police officers, EMS providers, and other first responders who ran toward danger while others were trying to escape.

We remember their courage.
We remember their sacrifice.
We remember the families who lost loved ones.

And we remember the countless first responders who have faced lasting physical and emotional consequences from that day.

For those of us who serve our communities today, September 11 is a reminder of the commitment behind the badge, the helmet, and the uniform — to serve, to protect, and to help others when they need us most.

From the members of Grant County Fire District 13, we honor the fallen and stand with the families, survivors, and first responders whose lives were forever changed.

Never Forget. 🇺🇸

Or weather has been upgraded to a red flag warning! Winds, temps, lightning likely! Be in the lookout for new fires.

Red flag warnings (fire weather warnings) have been issued for a large portion of Washington state, including the western slopes of the Cascades and the Olympic Mountains. The warnings go into effect on Saturday, August 22nd. For those locations like the Cascades and Olympics, the warning is due to the risk of new fire starts from expected thunderstorms. The case is the same in Eastern Washington, except there will also be critical fire weather due to extremely low relative humidity paired with strong wind behind the incoming system. Any new fire starts will spread rapidly, and existing fires could undergo some extreme fire behavior. If you spot the source of new rising smoke form an area where there wasn’t a fire before, don’t hesitate to report it asap. Also keep an eye out for any suspicious activity, and don’t hesitate to report that kind of thing as well. 1:55PM 08-21-26

While you were sleeping our firefighters answered the call after a passer by reported a RV trailer fire in the 1200 block of SR 28 W. Engine 1311, Tender 1331 and Tender 1336 all responded. Firefighters arrived about 3:36 AM and had the fire out in about five minutes.

A good reminder that while we are all focused on the challenging wildfire season, your property is still at risk from other sources of ignition. Be sure any combustible material is away from open flames and drowned anything like matches, ci******es or birthday candles before you dispose of them.

The devastation in Spokane is something out of a movie. It’s an alarming reminder of the power and danger present when the right weather conditions mix with fire. That’s why we share red flag warnings to help you prepare. Listening to evacuation notices are crucial as there aren’t second chances when a wind driven fire reaches your location.

While Grant County was spared from a large incident starting from this particularly dangerous situation, we are under high fire danger today with winds forecast up to 30mph.

We need everyone’s help preventing fires. We’ve only just begun August with two more months of real fire danger ahead of us. There are multiple large fires burning throughout the region including near Chelan, Tonaskst, Gifford and Nespelem. Smoke from those will continue to impact our area.
