Kuhl Hose had a busy start to the week, supporting and working with multiple departments across the area.

Sunday began with a scheduled controlled burn assisting Wattsburg Hose Company at a large barn that had fallen into disrepair and was partially collapsed. Crews protected several outbuildings and a large nearby barn exposure for several hours until the fire no longer posed a danger to surrounding structures.

Sunday afternoon, Kuhl Hose assisted the Corry Fire Department with manpower at a structure fire in Columbus. Before our arrival, crews extricated several critical burn victims, provided treatment, and transported them to appropriate care.
Engine 683 responded with four and remained on scene for several hours, assisting with overhaul and extinguishing the remaining fire. Kuhl Hose worked alongside both local and distant mutual aide companies throughout the operation to complete the assigned tasks. Departments from 4 counties were on scene.
Clymer Volunteer Fire Company , Union City Volunteer Fire Company, Elgin-Beaverdam Hose Company, Stancliff Hose Company, Waterford PA, Wrightsville Vol. Fire Dept, Spartansburg Volunteer Fire Department , Garland, PA. Volunteer Fire Department, Sugar Grove Volunteer Fire Department Station 63, Youngsville Volunteer Fire Department, Stanley Hose Company, EmergyCare, Stat MedEvac, and PA State Police all assisted on the scene.

Monday midday, Kuhl Hose was dispatched to Lucille Drive for a report of a truck fire. Upon arrival, Engine 683 reported a working truck fire with no exposures. The fire was quickly contained, and crews were back in service in less than 30 minutes.

10/3/26 - 08:31 - Kuhl Hose was dispatched to Kuhl Rd for a structure fire. On dispatch, the residence was reported to be occupied. On arrival, 683 laid in up a long driveway. They reported heavy fire conditions and that everyone was out. The crew stretched both 2” lines and made an aggressive attack on the fire.

Engine crews from 683, 682, 204, 704, 922 and 434 all worked to extinguish and overhaul the fire.

682 established water supply with a water shuttle using 4 tankers; 685, 686, 176 and 704.

The residents were evaluated for smoke inhalation but denied need for EMS and 1 firefighter was transported by 697 to the hospital with a leg injury.

Emergycare 102 provided EMS coverage at the scene.

Shout out to the Pennsylvania State Police Troopers who assisted with initial patient care, moving the injured firefighter away from the structure and helping with exterior tasks until additional units arrived.
