🎃🍬 A HUGE Thank You to Our Amazing Community! 💜

IAC wants to give a big thank you to everyone who generously donated candy and costumes this Halloween season!

Because of your kindness, we are able to bring a little extra Halloween fun and excitement to the children staying at IAC and the families we serve.

Your generosity helps us create special moments and lasting memories for the families in our care. We are so grateful to be part of a community that continues to show up and support local survivors and their families.

From all of us at IAC, thank you for making this Halloween a little sweeter and brighter! 🎃🍭

Today, we remember Sir Patrick Stewart, who passed away at the age of 86.

Known to millions for his iconic roles in Star Trek and X-Men, Stewart also used his voice to advocate for survivors of domestic violence.

Having witnessed his father abuse his mother during his childhood, Stewart spoke openly about the lasting impact of domestic violence and the importance of breaking the silence surrounding abuse. As an ambassador for Refuge, he dedicated his platform to raising awareness and standing alongside survivors.

His advocacy was a powerful reminder that domestic violence affects entire families and that speaking out can help create change.

We are grateful for his compassion, courage and commitment to ending domestic violence. His impact will continue far beyond the screen.

October is National Bullying Prevention Month

The work to create a safe and inclusive world without bullying does not end when October ends. Choosing kindness is a year-around commitment. This is a reminder to THINK before you speak.

True - Is it honest and accurate?
Helpful - Is it contributing to the situation?
Inspiring - Does it uplift or encourage?
Necessary - Does it need to be said at all?
Kind - Is it compassionate and not hurtful?

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month💜

As we enter the last week of October, let us remember, a person’s safety is not personal. It is not limited to “family business”. It is up to all of us to stand up against domestic violence. If you see something, say something. Otherwise, silence feeds the violence.
