Wonderful insights were shared today during this month's Florence County Collective meeting centered on nonprofit best practices. Belle Zeigler from Eastern Carolina Community Foundation graciously moderated a panel with three nonprofit leaders: Cecilia Meggs with Lighthouse Ministries, Jon Weiss Jr. with House of Hope of the P*e Dee, and Nicole Page with Potter House Recovery.

We're so thankful to everyone who joined us, and we're always excited to share these professional development opportunities for free to our community!

Mark your calendars for Friday, September 18! Day of Caring is returning for another year of service across Florence County.

Day of Caring is the largest event United Way of Florence County hosts each year, bringing volunteers together to tackle meaningful projects for local nonprofits and community organizations. Projects may include painting, organizing, cleaning, yard work, and more.

Volunteer projects will be available on our website (uwflorence.org) in August. Until then, we encourage you to start talking with your friends and/or coworkers, choose a team lead, and invite others to get involved!

A special thank you to PGBA/BlueCross BlueShield for sponsoring this event, and to Chris Phelps with Harmon Park Photography for generously volunteering his time and photography talents.

On Tuesday, June 16, United Way of Florence County gathered with donors, nonprofit partners, board members, volunteers and community leaders for our 6th Annual Awards & Allocation Luncheon at St. Luke Lutheran Church. Each year, this event gives us the chance to pause and say thank you.
