🚛 Need to schedule a bulk item pickup? Don't leave it at the curb without calling first!

The City of Fort Atkinson reminds residents that bulk items aren't collected with your regular garbage pickup and must be scheduled in advance through John's Disposal. Residents are eligible for one bulk pickup per month at no additional cost, and each pickup may include multiple items. Call John's Disposal for confirmation.

✅ Examples of accepted bulk items include: • Furniture
• Appliances (including refrigerators and other white goods)
• Mattresses and bedding
• Carpeting
• Tires (up to 8 small vehicle tires per household per year)
• Waste oil, antifreeze, and lead-acid batteries
• Extra household garbage and recycling
• Contained construction materials in 32-gallon cans weighing less than 60 lbs.

📞 To schedule your pickup, contact John's Disposal at 262-473-4700 or [email protected]. Residents must call ahead to arrange service. Do not place items out more than 24 hours before your scheduled service.

♻️ Remember: Bulk collection is intended for waste generated at your residence and is not a substitute for large remodeling projects or contractor waste.

Just a friendly reminder that our park shelters and bathrooms are closed for the season. We've also shut off our water fountains to prepare for winterization.

🎉🚧 Ground has officially been broken on the future Barb LeDuc Learning Center and Inclusive Park in Fort Atkinson!
This morning, City representatives joined Opportunities, Inc. to celebrate the groundbreaking of a park designed for everyone - children, seniors, families, and neighbors of all ages and abilities.
Funded by Opportunities, Inc., the park will feature: 🌿 Sensory exploration areas
💪 Health and fitness pavilion
🌷 Garden and artisan space
🤫 Quiet spaces for reflection
🏡 Covered gathering areas
🎳 Outdoor bowling
🚶 Walking paths..and much more!
The project will be the first inclusive park in or near Fort Atkinson, creating a welcoming space where everyone can learn and play together.
Construction is underway, with completion anticipated in Spring 2027.
Congratulations to Opportunities, Inc. and all those helping bring this exciting community asset to life!
