AIHS promotes dignity, independence and advocacy for all older adults, people with disabilities and family caregivers.

Aging and In-Home Services of Northeast Indiana, Inc. (AIHS) is a private, not-for-profit social service organization serving seniors and persons with disabilities of all ages since 1974. AIHS was designated by the state of Indiana as the Area Agency on Aging for northeast Indiana serving nine counties: Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells and Whitley. The mission of AIHS is to promote dignity, independence, and advocacy for all older adults and persons with disabilities

AIHS programs include case management, home delivered and congregate meals, family caregiver support and preventive health. All services are provided without regard to race, age, color, religion, sex, disability, national origin or ancestry. AIHS is accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA). COA accreditation attests that an organization meets the highest national standards and is delivering the best quality services to the community it serves. Funding

Have you had a caller claim they are from Medicare saying you get a free brace if you've been on Medicare over 5 years? This is a scam! If you haven't had it yet, be on the lookout for it!

Medicare won't call you let alone offer free items. If you get a call like this, hang up. If you do give out your number, don't be embarrassed, please report it to the SMP. This will help track the scammers and also get you on the path to securing your medical identity.

Medicare covers ambulance services when they are medically necessary. To qualify for coverage, the ambulance and its crew must meet certain standards and be the only safe means of transporting a patient to an appropriate facility – like a hospital, skilled nursing facility (SNF) or dialysis center – where the patient receives Medicare-covered services.

Report any potential ambulance fraud, errors or abuse to the to help protect the Medicare program and your tax dollars.
