Serial Burglar Arrested
During July and August 2026, detectives with the Fresno Police Department’s Northeast District Investigations identified a rise in late‑night residential burglaries. Cash and jewelry were the primary items taken.  Similar burglaries occurred in the Northwest Policing District on October 3, 2026.
Around the same time, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office identified a suspect in a burglary that occurred within their jurisdiction.  The suspect identified in that Fresno County Sheriff’s case was 33-year-old Jordon Packard, of Las Vegas.
On October 17, 2026, another burglary occurred in the Northeast District. Several thousand dollars’ worth of unique jewelry and collectible coins were stolen in that burglary.
Northeast and Northwest Policing District detectives collaborated on the investigations.  Through their investigations, investigators determined Jordon Packard was responsible for the burglaries in both policing districts.
On October 21, 2026, Northeast and Northwest detectives arrested Packard near Blackstone Avenue and Santa Ana Avenue.  During the arrest, detectives recovered several pieces of gold jewelry on Packard, including a distinctive gold necklace that was recently stolen. A subsequent search warrant served in relation to Packard resulted in detectives recovering a loaded 9mm Sig Sauer handgun, multiple items of gold jewelry, coins, paperwork, and jewelry bags. Packard was booked into the Fresno County Jail for multiple counts of residential burglary and fi***rms‑related offenses.
In total, investigators have linked twelve burglaries in the City of Fresno to Packard; eight in the Northeast Policing District, and four in the Northwest Policing District.  Although an arrest has been made, anyone with additional information can contact Detective K. Gregory at [email protected] or Detective J. Cruz at [email protected].

Officers recovered the backpack and found a loaded short-barreled bolt-action .22 caliber r***e inside. The fi***rm had a wooden stock engraved with the words “GAME OVER,” and there was no record of the serial number.  Garcia has prior felony convictions as well and is prohibited from possessing fi***rms.  Garcia was arrested for weapons-related charges and booked into Fresno County Jail.

Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday, November 1, don’t forget to “fall back” one hour.
This time change can increase collision risks due to disrupted sleep and darker commutes. Stay extra alert and look out for others on the road.
Safety reminders:
• Watch for pedestrians and cyclists
• Slow down and give yourself extra space
• Avoid distractions and stay focused
• Scan for hazards and use your headlights in low‑light conditions
• Avoid driving while drowsy; be extra alert during darker hours
• Defrost your windshield fully before driving
• Watch for sun glare; keep windshields clean, wear sunglasses, and slow down if visibility is poor
• If walking or biking after sunset, wear reflective or high‑visibility gear
A little extra awareness goes a long way as evenings get darker earlier.

Halloween Safety Tips
• Walk in well‑lit areas and use crosswalks. Drivers may have a harder time seeing trick‑or‑treaters in the dark.
• Make costumes visible. Add reflective tape, glow sticks, or carry a flashlight to help you stay seen.
• Stay with a trusted adult or group. Younger children should always trick‑or‑treat with supervision.
• Inspect all candy before eating. Only enjoy treats that are sealed and from people you know and trust.
• Drive carefully. Slow down in neighborhoods and watch for children crossing the street.
• Report suspicious activity right away. If something doesn’t look right, call us so we can help.
• Never drive under the influence. Plan a sober ride to help keep everyone safe this Halloween weekend.

Two Suspects Arrested for Burglary
On October 26, 2026, at approximately 04:25 am, Fresno Police officers assigned to the Central Policing District responded to a reported commercial burglary East Olive Avenue and North Maroa Avenue.  The business’s security company was alerted and observed two subjects entering the building and loading multiple boxes onto a cart.
Officers arrived shortly after, and the two suspects had left the location.  However, a female was found inside the business. After the location was searched by officers, the female was released pending additional investigation and a review of the surveillance video.
Officers reviewed the surveillance footage. The officers were familiar with people who frequent the area and they recognized two suspects, 60-year-old Ronald Price and 27-year-old Destinei Carrera.  The officers authored arrest warrants and arrested the two suspects on October 28, 2026.  Price and Carrera were booked at the Fresno County Jail. A portion of the stolen property was recovered and returned to the business.
