Honored to have the support of local legend Arnold (AJ) Duran Jr.

Coach AJ was the head coach of my freshman football team in 2016 (greatest year of the centrury).

He's the first male figure I've really looked up to and someone that pushed me to go past my limits.

I was super nice as a kid, too nice.

The version of me that walked into Frosh Football could never have the fight we're having now. Simply wouldn't be capable of handling the conflict.

My coaches raised me to lead, and I'm forever grateful for their continued support on my journey in life.

Over the last few months, several residents have come to me with concerns about Flock Cameras.

Flock cameras are specialized surveillance tools that can read and track license plates of vehicles on the road.

We have them all over town, and there are over 100,000 cameras deployed throughout the country.

The company that creates and leases Flock Cameras, Flock Safety, has gotten in trouble on multiple occasions for improperly sharing license plate data to outside agencies, including ICE (which is within the Department of Homeland Security).

When we most recently voted on purchasing these cameras, I was the only member of the Council that voted against the measure.

While these cameras serve as tools for solving crimes, they are a massive infringement of our 4th Amendment Rights against unreasonable search and seizure.

People all over the country have risen up and demanded the removal of these cameras from their cities/towns.

Many of you in Livingston have asked me on multiple occasions to bring this topic back for a discussion at a Council meeting.

We will be having a discussion item at the October 20th, 2026 Council meeting on Flock Cameras.

Any member of the public can attend and comment on how they feel about these cameras.

Each member of the public is allowed three (3) minutes to speak freely during public comment periods (in accordance with the First Amendment).

Honored to have the endorsement of Mrs. Maricela Alvear.

Mrs. Alvear is a pillar of the Livingston community. I had the opportunity to take several of her classes during my time @ Livingston High, so it's kinda cool to have her support in the big boy world.

I'll never forget something Mrs. Alvear told me in high school that still rings home today.

During my sophomore year (Spring 2018), we took a field trip to UC Davis to tour the campus.

As a kid that never traveled outside of our small town, that place was awesome.

I walked away knowing I would go somewhere far away for college, with zero (0) intention of staying home.

Right before we got back on the bus to go home, I asked Mrs. Alvear, who went to UC Davis, why she decided to come back to Livingston after making it to a place like that.

She had a very simple answer: "I wanted to give back".

I didn't understand it at the time.

I thought she was crazy to be honest, to make it out of Livingston, experience "bigger and better things", and come back home to a small town.

Little did I know I'd embrace the same mentality: pass up on full rides to my top picks for college and dedicate the early portion of my adult life to give back to the town.

I'm blessed to have mentors like Mrs. Alvear who model the spirit of service above self, and we're proud to build a coalition of people who live, love, and breathe Livingston.

Honored to have the endorsement of Mrs. Jessica Betschart.

Mrs. Betschart embodies what it means to give back.

Not only is she an active member of the City's Recreation Commission, but she is highly involved with the schools as a parent and takes pride in volunteering her time.

Our campaign is about giving back to something greater than ourselves, and we're proud to have the support of individuals like Mrs. Betschart who embody that spirit.

It takes all of us.

One question a I've gotten a lot as I've been going door to door:

"Why has Livingston failed to grow for so long?"

The truth is that we have a terrible reputation among the development community (individuals/businesses that build homes, commercial centers, restaurants, etc.).

This is largely due to:

-Dirty politics of the past
-Poor quality infrastructure
-Lack of progress on essential Planning Documents

We legally cannot annex new land into our City without updating our General Plan and negotiating a Master Tax Sharing Agreement with Merced County (I'll break this down further later).

Livingston's General Plan was last updated in 1999.

The most recent Master Tax Sharing Agreement was signed in 1998.

**I was born in 2002

We cannot allow the individuals who have had power for 20-30 years and failed to move on these items to get them done now.

The people that have dug us into holes cannot be expected to dig us out.

Our City has a choice between a New Era of leadership or the status quo.

Appreciate everyone that pulled up, asked questions, and wished us the best🙏🏾

Huge shoutout to Sueño Coffee Co for allowing us to use their venue as a hub for the community.

We'll continue to be active about engaging with the community, especially as we canvass door-to-door going into the November 3rd election.

Ballots will be mailed out this week. Keep an eye out for those and get them turned in ASAP.
