What an amazing evening at our 2nd Annual GMCS Trunk or Treat!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a spook-tacular success! From our incredible staff, families, and volunteers to everyone who decorated a trunk, donated candy, helped with setup, or simply came out to enjoy the fun — WE APPRECIATE YOU!

Seeing all the creative costumes, decorated trunks, smiling faces, and excitement from our students made all the hard work worthwhile!

Events like these remind us just how special our GMCS community truly is. 💛

🎉SURPRISE! IT’S ANOTHER SURPRISE ATTENDANCE DAY AT GMCS!
YOU SHOWED UP, SO WE’RE SHOWING YOU SOME LOVE!

Today, our GMCS students walked into a BIG surprise! Some familiar Toy Story friends made a special appearance, and the excitement was through the roof!

And the fun doesn't stop there!
This afternoon, our students will enjoy POPCORN and TOY STORY 5 MOVIE TIME!
Throughout the school year, we love surprising our students with special Pop-Up Attendance Days to celebrate those who show up, work hard, and come ready to learn!

FRIES, PIES & FRACTIONS… OH MY!

It was all fries and pies in Mrs. Rudy’s Math Class today at GMCS! 🎉

Third Grade came hungry for knowledge as they explored the delicious world of fractions! What better way to learn about parts of a whole than by enjoying a fraction of a pie? Math has never tasted so sweet!

Fourth Grade brought their food truck projects to life! After all their hard work, students celebrated by taking orders from classmates and staff and enjoying Mrs. Rudy’s very own Loaded Fry Food Truck!

From fractions to food trucks, our students are discovering that math isn't just about numbers—it's about creativity, teamwork, and real-world learning!

Who knew math could be so DELICIOUS? 💜

This past Friday, our 3rd–6th grade students had an incredible day exploring the history of the Battle of Gettysburg during our field trip to Gettysburg National Military Park! Students had the opportunity to bring their classroom learning to life through two exciting and educational experiences.

🎥 Exploring the Museum & Visitor Center

During one half of the day, students visited the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center, where they experienced the action of the Civil War through a short film and the incredible Cyclorama experience. Students also explored the museum exhibits, continuing to build upon the knowledge they have gained in the classroom and deepening their understanding of this important time in American history.

🪖 Walking the Gettysburg Battlefield

For the other half of the day, students stepped onto the actual battlefield! They walked parts of the historic grounds while learning about significant locations, including Little Round Top, Eternal Peace Light, and the Highwater Mark. As they explored important monuments and landmarks, students discovered how the geography of these locations influenced the events and outcomes of the Battle of Gettysburg. Seeing these places in person helped make history feel real and meaningful!

❤️ A Special Thank You to Our Volunteers!

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our amazing parent volunteer tour guides who shared their extensive knowledge of the Civil War and the Battle of Gettysburg with our students. Their stories, explanations, and insights helped students envision the events of the battle and gain a deeper appreciation for the history right here in our community. We are also incredibly grateful for our wonderful parent chaperones, who helped keep our groups together, organized, and running smoothly throughout the day! We are so thankful to our volunteers and chaperones for helping make this a memorable learning experience.

What a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect what they have learned in the classroom with the history that surrounds us! 🇺🇸

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU! 💜

Mrs. Lawrence’s class has been learning all about pushes, pulls, and balanced and unbalanced forces!

And what better way to put their knowledge to the test than with a good old-fashioned game of TUG-OF-WAR!

Our students discovered firsthand how forces work together—and what happens when one force is stronger than the other!

Who knew science could be so much fun?! A little teamwork, a little friendly competition, and a WHOLE LOT of learning!

Learning by doing—that’s the Montessori way! ❤️

FIRE SAFETY FUN AT GMCS! 🔥🚒

Yesterday, our GMCS students enjoyed a special Fire Prevention Assembly presented by the Gettysburg Fire Department!

Students learned important fire safety tips, how to prevent fires, and what to do in case of an emergency.

A HUGE THANK YOU to the Gettysburg Fire Department for taking the time to visit our school, share your knowledge, and help keep our students safe!
