Congratulations to the Glenbard West Boys Volleyball team on winning the IHSA State Championship yesterday! Another championship team escorted back into town in the past 3 weeks by Glen Ellyn Police Department and Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Company.

It was our pleasure to present and retire the colors during today’s Memorial Day service at Lake Ellyn as hundreds gathered to honor the brave men and women who have lost their lives while serving in our nation’s military.

Not every call involves fire or medical emergencies. Earlier this morning, GEVFC firefighters responded to assist with a cat stranded in a tree. Crews used our tower ladder to safely reach the cat and reunite it with its owner.

Fortunately, everyone made it safely back to ground level.
