• Create a welcoming and inclusive school culture where everyone belongs

This award celebrates both certificated and classified staff whose daily actions make a lasting difference in the lives of our students.

📝 Nominations are due by Tuesday, November 10, 2026.

PRINCIPAL SPOTLIGHT: Candice Ward! 🏫✨

October is National Principals Month, and today we are excited to highlight Candice Ward, Assistant Principal at Granite Falls Middle School.

Mrs. Ward has been in education for 14 years and is currently in her 8th year as an assistant principal. Her journey into education is truly inspiring, and we are so fortunate to have her leadership and heart at GFMS! 🐅

🌟 Why She Became an Educator: "School wasn’t always easy for me, and I found myself in some trouble along the way. Those experiences inspired me to become an educator. I wanted to reach students who might be struggling, help them see their potential, and support them in choosing a positive path forward."

🎂 Surprise Fact: Education is actually her fourth career! After high school, she spent four years as a hairstylist, owned a wedding cake business, and worked as a real estate appraiser before finding her calling in teaching!

☀️ Favorite Part of the Day: "The morning! I love greeting students as they arrive and helping them start their day on a positive note. Those small moments of connection can make a big difference."

💬 Her Wish for Students: "It’s okay to fail, but don’t let that be where your story ends. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and try again. Some of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned came from not succeeding the first time."

Falling leaves & Tiger pride! 🍂🍁🐅

The leaves have turned, and as you've probably noticed around our campuses, many trees have now lost all their leaves!

A huge shoutout to our hardworking district grounds crew who have been hard at work all week cleaning up the "natural fall decor" to keep our school walkways, parking lots, and fields safe and pristine. We appreciate everything you do behind the scenes for our schools and district! 🚜🧹

🏈🎉 HAPPY HOMECOMING, GRANITE FALLS!
Have a safe, fun, and memorable weekend celebrating with our Tiger community!
