Certain CPAs who have retired may now apply for Emeritus status, which launches officially on July 1. Emeritus is a CPE-exempt status like Inactive, but will allow more flexibility for volunteering.
will qualify if they:
- Are retired and do not provide any services for compensation.
- Have been licensed for at least 30 years, or have been licensed for 15 years and are at least aged 60.

The board is grateful to Virginia Union University for hosting its spring meeting. The agenda was full of special content for students and included:
- Hearing from Dr. Ruth Coles Harris about her experience becoming the first African-American woman to earn her in Virginia.
