Thank you to all of the parents and community members that helped out tonight! The teachers were served pizza, salad, fruit, sodas and tons of yummy desserts during conferences because of your donations! The PTA also got the book fair set up and manned a fall bookmark table where we got to see close to 40 kiddos craft while they waited for conferences. We appreciate all of the help and especially appreciate our fabulous teachers and staff!

Elementary conferences are coming up next week! The PTA will be putting on a pizza dinner for the teachers on Thursday night during conferences. We are asking for donations of drinks and desserts. if you can help, please sign up below and bring your item to the elementary office by 10:00 Thursday morning. Conferences are Thursday and Friday for the elementary school and the PTA needs your help on Thursday evening! Can you spare an hour or two to join us?

We are looking for some volunteers to help with our activities that evening.
1:45-3:45 1 or 2 parents who can help with setting up the book fair
3:30-4:15 1 or 2 parents who can set up the pizza dinner for teachers
4:30-5:30 1 or 2 parents who can set up our bookmark craft booth and man it. Hand out Reflections paperwork, take sign-ups for new volunteers. Super easy!
5:30-6:30 Same as above! Just help kiddos make bookmarks and hand out paperwork.
7:00-7:30 1 parent who can clean-up the pizza dinner.

We’d love your help! You don’t have to commit to the year… just an hour or two!

Today I got to meet up with Mike and Charity from the Evan Walker Memorial Fund. They fundraise each year, in honor of Mike’s son, to raise money for local schools. This was the 5th year that they have donated to Hot Springs Schools and we are so appreciative. This money is ear marked for students who need extra materials to succeed in their classrooms, whether they have an IEP or not. In the past we have used these funds to purchase a wide variety of fidgets, specialized seating, under desk exercise equipment, vocabulary boards and so much more for the students in our school classrooms. Thank you to the Evan Walker Fund for another year supporting the needs of our students!

Box Tops are back! One of our new members, Kimberly, is relaunching our Box Top program! Box Tops are no longer a clip and earn program, but are now an easy to use app on your phone! You just follow the QR code below, create an account (it took me just two minutes) and then scan receipts that have participating items so that our school earns! You can even attach you Walmart account and it will handle the box tops automatically! Our account is under the Hot Springs Elementary, but since our PTA supports all of our grade levels it will be used across all of the schools! This is an easy way to earn money for the school with purchases you’re already making. Shopping at Lynn’s? Scan the receipt and save it for our Lynn’s Receipt Contest!

A huge round of thank yous to everyone that assisted with our pizza dinner for the teachers during middle/high school conferences. Thank you to the parents and community members who donated delicious baked goods and drinks and the moms who helped set up. An extra thank you to Kelly at Pizza Hut for going above and beyond when there was a scheduling mishap on my end. And, of course, thanks to our fantastic teachers and staff for staying late to meet with our families this evening. We’re lucky to be part of the Hot Springs School Family!

We are still looking for a couple volunteers to help with volleyball concession stands from 6:30- 8ish on Tuesday, September 29! It’s a super easy way to help the PTA earn funds for the year. Please let us know if you’re available to help!

Can you help? Please reach out! The money we make from running two concession stands a year helps with teacher meals and appreciation treats, much-needed items for the school like air conditioners or books and so much more!
