What an incredible day celebrating art, culture, and community at our Station Celebration!

From DĂa de los Mu***os traditions and beautiful artwork to costumes, crafts, and family fun, today was a celebration of everything that makes Huntington Station so special!

I was proud to fund this event through my omnibus grant funding and partner with the Huntington Station BID to bring this wonderful celebration of art, culture, and community to life.

A huge thank you to the Huntington Station BID for their partnership and to all the talented artists, organizations, and volunteers who made today possible!

Alongside my colleague Legislator Stephanie Bontempi, I was proud to sponsor this beautiful mural at Breezy Park, brought to life by the incredible work of Splashes of Hope and artist Carol Hough.

Honoring the memory of Brianna “Breezy” Titcomb, the mural celebrates her love of sports, family, and community while inspiring the next generation of young athletes.

A beautiful tribute to Breezy’s lasting legacy and a reminder of the importance of making safe, responsible choices.

What a wonderful Halloween celebration at Tri-CYA’s Trunk or Treat yesterday!

It is always great to see so many children, families, local organizations, and libraries come together for an afternoon of Halloween fun, creativity, and creative costumes.

A huge shoutout to Tri-CYA and all the community partners who helped make this event so special for our young residents.

The celebration doesn’t end with Halloween!

Join us this Sunday, November 1, for our Huntington Station Celebration, as we come together to celebrate community, culture, and the beautiful traditions of DĂa de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead)!

We’re excited to bring our community a day filled with cultural arts and crafts, interactive activities, creativity, and opportunities to learn about the meaningful traditions that honor and remember loved ones who have passed.

And since it’s the day after Halloween, why not give those costumes one more day out? We encourage children and families to dress up, bring their Halloween spirit, and enjoy a second day of festivities while experiencing and appreciating the rich cultural traditions of Día de los Mu***os.

Join us from 10 AM to 4 PM! We can’t wait to celebrate with you and your families!

This evening, I attended the Pink and Red event hosted by the National Council of Negro Women for an important conversation about women’s health, awareness, and access to care.

Thank you to the National Council of Negro Women for bringing our community together to address these critical issues and empower women through education and advocacy!

Back in August, we brought together veterans service organizations from across Long Island to discuss how we can better serve those who have served. One important takeaway was that the language we use, how we communicate, and our understanding of military culture all matter.

That conversation inspired us to partner with the Suffolk County Veterans Service Agency to bring together libraries, service agencies, and community leaders serving District 16 for Beyond “Thank You for Your Service.”

Thank you to the Veterans Service Agency for an incredibly insightful and valuable presentation. By coming together, learning from one another, and strengthening our understanding, we can better support the veterans in our community.
