Indiana Blind Children's Foundation

The Indiana Blind Children’s Foundation (IBCF) is seeking an experienced and passionate fundraising professional to serve as our Development Director. In partnership with the CEO, Board of Trustees, donors, and community partners, this role will help drive our philanthropic vision and strengthen long-term sustainability. IBCF proudly supports the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, focusing its fundraising and outreach efforts on five key areas: arts and music, assistive technology, career development, family engagement, and health and wellness programs.

This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing comprehensive fundraising strategies that support IBCF’s mission, expand its philanthropic reach, and secure resources to strengthen programs and services for blind and low-vision students across Indiana. The Development Director will lead the day-to-day ex*****on of fundraising operations, donor stewardship, campaigns, sponsorships, grant management, and development communications while helping build the systems and infrastructure necessary for continued organizational growth.

Ahead of the latest Toula Oberlies Creative Arts Fund trip to New York City, students at Indiana School for the Blind & Visually Impaired (ISBVI) received suits from local nonprofit In Pursuit Of so they could attend the 2026 Helen Keller Achievement Awards in style. ISBVI students were also given suits ahead of the 2026 School Prom, ensuring they were in the utmost dapper form.

Founded by Regions Bank employee Brian Carman, In Pursuit Of believes that everyone deserves to look their best in pursuit of being their best.

“Usually it’s for a job interview,” says Carman of his nonprofit and the work it does. “But sometimes it’s for a trip to New York to celebrate a teacher. I’m so glad that we’ve been able to help.”

In reflecting on what brings him the most joy out of ensuring individuals have the dress attire they need to succeed, Carman says it all comes back to making a small but meaningful impact in people’s lives.

“It’s pretty special and validated what I thought was a need in the community,” says Carman on In Pursuit Of. “If I can help be a part of changing people’s lives, then I’m going to do what I can.”
