Caring for an older loved one can be deeply meaningful, but it can also be emotionally and physically demanding. Our Caregiver Support Group offers family caregivers a welcoming space to connect with others who truly understand the journey.

These groups provide an opportunity to:
-Share experiences without judgment
-Feel less alone and more supported
-Build coping skills
-Learn about helpful community resources

The meeting is held the 3rd Thursday of each month from 1:00 – 2:30PM at Fairview Presbyterian Church (4609 N. Capitol Ave.) Registration is preferred. Visit helpcreatehope.org/caregiver-support for more information

One ride. One connection. One inspiration to serve.

When Judy needed a ride to an outpatient procedure, senior companion Kathie was there every step of the way, from a reassuring phone call the night before to safely escorting her home afterward.

Kathie’s kindness and dedication made such an impact that Judy decided to become a senior companion herself. Today, she is providing rides, companionship, and support to older adults in our community.

We are grateful for volunteers like Kathie, whose compassion not only changes lives but inspires others to serve.

Our School Social Work team provides critical support to students across the archdiocese. Staff work with students in grades PK–12, helping them navigate social, emotional, and academic challenges. Many students participate in small-group and classroom-based programs to strengthen social skills and peer relationships. The compassionate care, expertise, and dedication shown by the School Social Work Program makes this program a vital resource in fostering healthy, supportive school communities.

When needed, pursue professional help without hesitation.

Faith and professional care are not rivals. Therapy and counseling, can be instruments of God’s healing. Seeking competent help is an act of humility and hope, not a failure of faith. At Catholic Charities Indianapolis therapists are available to offer counseling for those who wish to incorporate their values and spirituality into the therapy process. This is not about imposing beliefs. Rather, counselors gently assess how important a person’s faith is to them and, when desired, thoughtfully incorporate their spiritual practices and address spiritual struggles within evidence-based care. This kind of integrated care reflects ongoing clinical and research work in the field that centers on the importance of faith and psychology, with particular attention to holistic approaches that honor the whole person — body, mind, and soul. Counselors are available in person and via telehealth.

Today is Mental Health Sunday. We recognize the importance of mental health and the need to support one another with compassion, understanding, and hope.

Mental health challenges can affect anyone, regardless of age, background, or circumstance. As a community rooted in faith and service, we are called to care for the whole person, offering encouragement, connection, and support to those who may be struggling. Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Together, we can help reduce stigma, foster belonging, and remind our neighbors that they are never alone.

Holy Family Shelter is excited to partner with Second Helpings to help plan and provide weekend meals for their residents. This partnership will help ensure nutritious, delicious meals continue to be available for the families we serve.

As a result, weekend meal volunteer hours have changed:
- Lunch: 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Dinner: 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
