In Iowa, precinct election officials are required by law to initial each ballot before handing it to a voter. These initials are a routine part of the voting process and do not identify you or cause your ballot to be rejected.

If your ballot has election officials’ initials on it, your ballot is valid and will be counted. There is no need to request a new ballot.
