A HUGE congratulations to Tamir Waite of Horace Mann Middle School on being named Rookie Teacher of the Year!

Tamir is setting the bar high while ensuring her students have the support they need to succeed!

During a recent classroom visit, we saw her commitment to strong instructional practices in action: explicit modeling, partner work, independent practice, and intentional checks for understanding. From revisiting challenging math concepts to using anchor charts that students can reference, Tamir creates opportunities for students to ask questions, deepen their understanding, and take ownership of their learning.

It’s been wonderful to see her classroom vision of high expectations AND strong support come to life. She believes in what her students are capable of and equips them with the tools and guidance to get there.

We’re proud to celebrate Tamir’s growth, dedication, and impact on students. Keep shining and growing!

Students were spotted actively engaged and strengthening their foundational phonics skills a great example of the focused learning that builds a strong foundation for reading success!
