Some people won’t clap when you grow.
They’ll question it.
Real growth doesn’t wait for approval.

What they criticize in you...
is often what they abandoned in themselves.

Confidence.
Courage.
Original thinking
The willingness to step forward.

Never forget-
Criticism says more about them
than it does about you 👇

→ “You’re too different”
= "I’m afraid to stand out because it's risky."

→ “You’ll never make it”
= "I gave up, so I want you to give up too"

→ “You’ve changed"
= "I stayed the same, and it scares me to see you grow"

→ “You’re too ambitious"
= "I stopped dreaming a long time ago"

They’ll throw labels at you.
They'll project their doubts onto you.

The truth?
What they say isn’t your burden.
It’s their reflection.

So instead of shrinking,
here’s how you rise above it 🚀

1. Pause before reacting
Their words = projection.
Don’t carry what isn’t yours.

2. Check for truth
If there’s wisdom, keep it.
If not, let it go.

3. Stand in your values
When you know who you are,
no one else gets to define you.

4. Pick your battles
Not every comment deserves your energy.
Silence can be power.

5. Turn it into fuel
No defending. No arguing.
Let results speak.

6. Curate your circle
Release the critics and clingers.
Stay close to those who raise your standards.

7. Shine anyway
Your light isn’t for their comfort.
It’s for your purpose.

The louder the hate,
the clearer the proof:
you’re doing something worth noticing.

So stop dimming your light.
Keep shining-
someone needs your brightness to find their own.

I previously mentioned about voter intimidation. Let’s go just a little bit further…

The comment that is included here is from one of the Mayor’s minions. They handled the post card campaign for her much as they have currently handled her website as a moderator and even parroted her talking points during public comments of Council meetings when they (often) speak. How would you have liked to receive a post card with a personal message when you weren’t supporting their candidate?

There are solutions to bullies though….

If we had a proactive council rather than a reactive council some of this could be called out and addressed. They could curtail some of her current hijinks as it reflects at least on the council and Jamestown. But thus far we have seen very little and short of other parties getting involved, they will look the other way rather than confront or address any concerns. The fact of the matter is that this council will not curtail the extracurricular activities of the mayor until it blatantly impacts their own personal standing. They will not act when her website promotes negativity towards town staff.

Kind of makes you wonder what this council actually do stand for? It’s clearly not the town employees.

So again just to be clear, our Mayor maintains her own website that invites comments that among other things denigrate or call for the termination of town employees? A website by the way that has had a moderator who regularly gives word salad explanations during town council meetings and actively participated in a low level voter intimidation campaign for that current mayor. So how long does the current council allow for their personal reputations to be at risk without saying a word or taking any actions to at least distance themselves?

Think about that. This is the Town of Jamestown, NC’s current Mayor and the council that is supporting her who are basically putting their own self interests out in front of the health and well being of the town, its employees, and all of the voters who didn’t show up because of a post card campaign that one of the mayors closest minions help to drive. I have the full mea culpa in writing complete with their name. Suffice it to say that alone it is a conflict of interest.

Voter intimidation, Let’s go further still….

I got a personal comment. Handwritten. The handwriting is extremely similar to some other signed documents by someone who not only speaks frequently during public comments but serves as a moderator on the Mayor’s website.

So think about this…

If they were willing to go that far, was that all they did to get this woman elected? I know that nothing will change the outcome of the last election. Candidly I wouldn’t want it to be that simple to interfere in any election. But the evidence is clear that for the first time in Jamestown’s recorded history there is the likelihood of voter intimidation.

This affects residents in Jamestown NC. I will be posting on this and related issues going forward…

Lets talk about potential voter intimidation by bad actors on behalf of the mayor….

HUNDREDS of these postcards were mailed out in and around my neighborhood. I have spoken with many of my older neighbors who chose to stay home because they did not want to have to deal with the same nonsense that you may have witnessed hurled at me now or in the past.

I don’t blame them frankly.

But the most recent Mayoral election was one of the lowest turnouts in recent history. It was decided by less than 90 votes…

Think about that…
